		| | I would like to buy a ring flash for my d300, something portable battery powered would be good. I looked also at the adapters for sb800 are there any good? Any suggestions.

 Thanks in advance

 Kris

		| | There is the Orbis one and Ray one. Both are good apparently. |

		| | I've got the Orbis. I bought it largely for macro, as I don't do much portrait stuff, but on the portraits I have done it worked well for that as well (sorry no examples at the moment on DPC). I used it on and I think also for . It makes for really smooth light really easily. It's not all that powerful, however, and comparing it to the Sigma ring and the R1C1 system, both allow for ratio control. |

		| | I want to use it mainly for portraits. I wonder if this will give me enough power to fill the shadows in bright light and that catchy ring eye light would be a good addition. |

You can check out their gallery for examples made using it. Also, if you wanted I could try and do a quick midmorning shoot to illustrate fill potential outdoors. I could probably post by Saturday.
