I sent SC two emails yesterday requesting clarification if text effects can be used on the Zoo Challenge entry. I still haven't received a reply...so hopefully someone on SC will see this thread and be able to respond.

1 - Are text effects allowed similiar to this style?

2 - Some text have little drawings in place of a letter...can they be used in conjunction with the text?

I can't say how others would see it, but I guess I'd err on the side of using alpha-numeric and standard punctuation characters only -- I know there are fonts with images and dingbats/symbols, but I suspect that at least some SC will consider those not within the "spirit" of the rules, if not beyond the letter.

I faced a similar issue with my "Postcard" entry, where I wanted to use one of the University of California's logos, which consists of stylized script. I could not use it as-is since it was "clip art" -- even though it was only text characters. I ended up just using a similar font, but later I imported the artwork into a program which generates fonts, and made it into a single character I can type into Photoshop or any other program.

Cool thanks for that General. Actually while I have you here, can you please make sure that my two emails did reach the system please?
