Andi & Natayla, I just sent an e-mail to the fundraising addy. It is about some "HOPE" ideas/concepts that might help some who are struggling with a photo idea.

Also a helpful bump to this thread.

Thanks Chrystyne, I'll chat this over with Andi and probably post something later today.

Another reminder to all who signed up, so far we have images from 33 people out of a possible 99. The quality is fantastic with no two ideas being the same, you've done good! Now it would be great to add a few more of you to the collection...Entries need to be with us by Monday :-)

If you're struggling for ideas I will post some thoughts from Chrystyne here later to give you some inspiration.

Here is the message Chrystyne sent us...

Hello Andi & Natalya,

I have been away for a long stretch. I looked in to see how the project is going. I think that some are struggling with a concept and I truly hope there is more coming by your June 1 deadline. Nonetheless perhaps it could use a helpful boost. So, I am going to toss some ideas your way for you to post to the thread.

The reason why I am doing it this way is that one of my ideas might to closely match what the 29 other people who have submitted. If none of the ideas are repeated feel free to post them to the thread so that hopefully it will inspire more entries to come your way. I wish I had done this earlier.

Pandora's Box - Hope was symbolized as the butterfly. Box with words like "disease, sadness, fear" written on it but a butterfly rests just outside the edge or capture it in flight taking off from the box.

Hope emerges from her shell - butterfly coming out of a cocoon or seashell

People give hope- Gather enough people together that they spell out the word "hope" with their bodies.

Hope lifts one up/Hope reaches for the sky for it knows no boundaries. A small child holding a single balloon either near a brick wall or out in an open field with blue sky. Written on the balloon (either a red or white balloon given color symbology) is the word HOPE. The image could also be B&W with just the balloon in color.

Alighting hope/belief that things will get better/lighting the flame of hope. Four white candles with either an individual letter that spells out 'hope' carved into them or 'written' on them . A hand is seen with a very long matchstick lighting them up.

Hope Delivered/Deliverance of Hope. Person is very clearly dressed as a Delivery man but has angel wings. He/She rings the doorbell and stands outside with a box ....on the box is written the word HOPE in large letters.

Stories that give us hope....A storyteller sits in the middle of a crowd of children. We only see the children's backs but on four of the children they each wear one letter that then spells out the word HOPE. The children will have be lined up so that it the word will be readily recognizable.

Planting the seeds of hope. You will need 4 small white block letters that spell "Hope" In an aquarium fill with dark potting soil but take care that you have those four letters arranged to spell hope and that they are pressed against the glass. Near the glass have the holes in the soil visible and this 4 holes should reach down to each letter. A single hand is seen dropping seeds into the hole. Only the hand, soil, the holes and the block hope letters should be seen in capture. Make sure not to get glare of the glass so that it looks like you are looking at a slice of earth in this capture.

Hope can grow even in the harshest conditions. A flower springs forth from a cracked earth - desert scene or the land could be barren with no plant life other than the flower plant (I say this because it should be the whole plant rather than just a single stem with flower. OR "Plant" a flower with the leaves showing in a crack in the sidewalk Or it could be coming/growing out of a rock.

Listening to Hope/Hopeful Music. A person with stereo earphones (the large type that covers your ears) has his/her hands up to their ears. The person's eyes are closed and they appear to be deeply enjoying/zoning out to the music coming through....maybe even a hint of smile on their face akin to a Mona Lisa smile. All we see in the scene in the upper body from the chest up. On the wall behind the person is a few letters that are very large and visible....it should be the size of the person's head. The letter "H" will be on the left side of the person. The person's head will act as the "O". Then the letters "P" and "E" will be on the right side of the person's head.

Chrystyne

Really hoping to see a few more entries over the next couple of days :-)

Natayla, did you get the picture I sent by yousendit.com? I've sent you an email and a PM and haven't heard back from you, so I wasn't sure. If you did, but it's not what you want or are looking for that's ok, just let me know. Thanks!

Hi, yes I did receive the image but sorry I didn't get back to you :( Everything is fine with your shot :)

Note to all: Andi and I are very busy at the moment with work (Andi) and the launch of a new brain tumour information website (both of us) which happens on Monday so I'm afraid we may take a few days to get back to anyone who sends us a message at the moment.

With this in mind I will extend the deadline for images just once more to 15th June 2009. After that I won't be able to accept any more images.

Thanks to everyone who has submitted so far, fingers crossed this final extra bit of time will make it possible for a few more of you to be a part of the book too :)

I've just added some more inspirational hope quotes to our website, don't know how much they will help those trying to get a shot for us but thought I'd post them anyway :) You can see the latest additions HERE

I did leave out the details (I think) of the title and why I think it fits very well for the Hope Project. Please let me know if you recieved the image....I will gladly fill out the information for you. I sent it using YouSendIt.

I think I probably left out some of that too. It's been longer than a week day so my memory of what I did/didn't do is totally gone. If there's anything needed just yell.

All, we are now past the cut off date for receiving your submissions for the book. If you have sent an image to us please take a moment to visit here and check that we have confirmed receipt. About 40% of those that have signed up have submitted so the final book might be a little light.

Thanks again to everybody for helping us, Talj and I will be discussing the next stage at the start of July.
