Hey anyone care to vote for my pic at Model Mayhem?
If so here is the link. You will find It has 7 votes so far I could use some more from the friendly folk here:)

sorry to be a bit dense . . but which is your picture in particular ?

There are currently five with 7 votes and that will change everytime someone votes . .

It's pretty obvious which is Leos if you take a quick look at the last entry he submitted in the challenges here ;)

But I'm sorry Leo that is a competition that I enter fairly regularly and a) it's against the rules to ask people to vote for you, and b) would you really want to win knowing that you got votes because friends / acquaintances voted for you rather than because you have what is perceived to be the best image in the contest?

I've placed fairly highly there before and I was happy knowing it was because people used one of their 3 votes because they liked my image rather than because I'd drummed up votes... Sorry if this sounds a bit pompous but what you are doing is effectively cheating and if you were proved to be doing that on this site you can get account suspended for it.

I have to say there are some pretty classy pics there.

Yeah it's nearly always a fairly strong field because there is no date requirements so people submit their best images over and over again until it places :)

I purposely did not point out which one is mine. As far as I know,people ask for votes all the time. If people wish to vote for other pics they are free to do so. If they don't vote for mine, well then, I didn't deserve a vote..oh well.

It was just a friendly jest to have a look and vote if you wish If you don't then move on.

The only person that I am aware of that was caught vote stacking had his image removed and was banned from participating anymore in the POTD and rightly so cheating is cheating no matter how much in jest it is done IMO.

So do you really think that these other entrants have not asked or told anyone that they have an entry in the contest. There is a reason why some people put their watermark on the pic that they enter.

Isn't that soliciting votes?

I watermark all my portfolio images that doesn't mean I ask people to go vote for me though, I'm not getting funny with you and I don't need to defend myself or my stance on vote stacking afterall the rules are the rules. I let you know that you were not complying with the rules on here rather than getting your image removed which would have happened with a simple PM to one of the mods I don't think I can do much more.

Now you know it is wrong to ask people to vote for you though I do think you should think twice before trying to defend it, it doesn't put you in a very good light IMO.

I don't think I broke the rules! The rules do not state anything about other sites. I also have watermarks on my images.Don't be so naive to think that there is only one reason for that.

The operative words in my OP were "anyone care to vote" not "please vote for". I also didn't point out which pic was mine.

Do you also reply to the dozens of others who ask for votes on this site?

You are entitled to your opinion. I have no problems with that. Our interpretations are different.

If you would like to report me go ahead.

Your title to this post is "Vote for me at Model Mayhem" doesn't get much clearer than that really and let's be honest the only reason there was no mention of the image was not with the intention of keeping your image unidentified was it?

As for your point about reporting your image, under the circumstances I think that's what I will do, sorry but you have not really left any options considering you feel your actions are perfectly ok.

Well....you have to be a member, you have to vote for three, and it's pretty much like DPC in that you're not going to get a million dollars, so what's the big deal?

I voted for yours, and two others I liked.

Jeb, seriously you make me laugh sometimes, you get on your high horse about issues all the time, when someone is informed they are actually cheating you condone it, but just a few weeks ago you were blasting some guy about daring to stand in your way when you were taking a picture... No, I was pissed that after waiting patiently that the guy darted right in front of me......maybe you should have actually read what I said, but of course nobody actually did.

It seemed that I was the idiot for thinking that anyone would have understood, hence my pulling the image and everything out of the thread.

I figured no one gave a shit, so I moved on.

I sort of fail to understand the rigid set of standards that you're applying here when you could just state your point, not vote, and move on.

Instead, you seem to want to pick a fight.

BTW, DO you claim all your income and never speed?

And I am quite well aware that I am nothing in the big picture.....what makes YOU think you know jack shit about how I feel about myself?

I don't claim to know anything about how you feel about yourself, I do remember you throwing your toys out the pram when everyone didn't jump on your side when you reported what you believed was someone not behaving in a fitting manner, which is all I have done - simply commented on someone not following the rules of a competition, however now you feel you need to make snide and sarcastic remarks about me voicing my opinion.

What the hell has me speeding or my tax returns got to do with anything? I am not claiming to be some kind of angel here, I do NOT cheat and I do NOT condone it, I simply told Leo his actions were tantamount to cheating incase he was not aware (which he wasn't it seems) - it has been confirmed to me that it is by the way.

I am not trying to pick a fight at all, I am simply standing by my original post that was polite and informative of the situation as I see it, but if you want to make such a big deal out of it then feel free to PM me and we can discuss it further without bothering the rest of the community.

To make it official, I really didn't know it was cheating. I still don't think its cheating if I do it here on this site. But that doesn't matter. I even posted something on MM first without knowing it wasn't allowed. OOPS. Nobody said anything there. Not even the MM police.

I wasn't aware of the rules until I was made aware of it on here.

For now I will have to bow my head in shame because I have been reported and disqualified.

ETA I forgot: Vote 7 or higher for me in the upcoming Free Study!!

See, this is what really frosted me about your whole attitude in the first place. I was going to leave this alone, but your arrogant, condescending tone really gets under my skin. I know I should be bigger than this, but pretentious, contentious people like you really bug me.

First.....you obviously did not read my post about that photog that day. Not that I feel I have to justify myself to you, but I stood there, off to the side, but obviously waiting with my large camera for my turn, outside of the field of view, while this other guy went 'round this little food display taking shots. He then left the area, at which point I stepped up and took a shot.....only to find that this guy had stepped right into the center of the shot.

Now if being pissed off at the guy doing that is making it all about me, then yeah, it was, but if you tell me that you wouldn't have felt the same way, you're a damned liar.

And yeah, you're darn right I was surprised to get the attitude that somehow I was being unreasonable for declaring that the guy was a jerk. I really thought that the people here would have had a similar opinion as I since I made it a point to be considerate of this other guy first.

Silly me......but I learned, and will not bother to express my views in such a manner here again....ever.

Yeah, I act like an asshole from time to time because I get frustrated and irritated about this ot that.....sue me for being passionate, but this kind of thing that you did is a whole different way of being.

How incredibly presumptuous of you to think that Leo doesn't have enough of a grasp of general protocol to know exactly what he's doing.....and deem it perfectly acceptable.

You stuck your nose in something that did not concern you, didn't affect you, and directly adversely affected someone for your need to project your views on somebody else.

I went back and looked.....Leo's image is gone.....happy now?
