The link seems to be //dpchallenge.com/?tmp=exitpop_container2&aid=19...
I really dont think that i am the 1000000 visitor and won a laptop...
What should I do? just close the window? Notify anyone here? Does is happen regularly on the site?

Edit
Dunno why the picture dont appear here... i just uploaded it to my portfolio.,.. its the only one there... if someone could check it...

It could be just a pop up ad pretending to be from the site you are already on. Many pop up ads will do that, often trying to look like windows dialog boxes. But I don't think it came from DPC. Which makes me question further. What browser are you using, and do you have an active popup blocker? You may have a bit of malware on your system as well. You need to install a spyware checker and run a scan if you don't have one.

Looks like you are using internet explorer, notorious for pop-ups and malware. Try Firefox or Chrome browsers, you will see very few pop-ups of that sort.

I use IE7 with all the security updates suggested by Mr. Bill... the windows firewall is active and the pop ups are blocked... I use Avira antivirus (that is activated, and i suppose that has spyguard). What do you think I can do to prevent things like this?

Stop using IE at all. It is the worst browser for safety, security, and popups. Go download Firefox and learn to use it. You won't look back to IE.

Like you, Jose, I kept my IE up to date and used Norton, then McAfee etc. and still had a constant barrage of popups. I have used Firefox for 2 years or so, and cannot remember the last security issue. MattO is right - you will wonder what took you so long to dump IE.

edit for typo...

One thing to add into Firefox is the Noscript extension. It will block javascript from any site that you do not specifically allow to run scripts. It's a slight hassle, but well worth the added security,as javascript is a major vector for malware.

Hey guys!
Thanks for the help! I already used firefox when sharing a notebook with a friend...
Now im scanning my system and also downloading the firefox here... (almost done the scan, and until now, 2 warnings and 1 suspicious file... but nothing seem to be too bad)
Anyway... think the next post will be thru the new browser!!

It ought to prevent most issues. One additional thing to do is turn off 3rd party cookies:

PS: i must confess that some years ago I won a prize for being the 3.000.000 visitor on my company´s intranet!! a really cool book about history of music, *illustrated* with a CD... that made me think for a second about the notebook offer... but all that *you won* flashing instantly woke me up...

I use IE and have no issues. No virus, malware, junk popups or false dpchallenge crap. Does anyone know why I don't have any issues but others do when using IE?

Perhaps you are not going to some of the sites they are on. Malware has also been known to spread through infected 3rd party banner ads that are on some sites. Just because the main site is clean does not always mean much. Malware is one of the fastest growing and most highly advanced areas of software development.

Hmmmm... So maybe it was my "glamour photography" research, while studying for the last challenge... :-D
