As a compromise, you could do a resize to a 6x8, or do the full gigantic resize, and just warn her that it's doable, but the quality will be noticeably reduced? I've resized a 400 x 600px picture to an 8x12 before - you get some ugly upsizing artifacts to start off with, but they can be removed to an extent with futher processing if you've got the patience. I'd estimate it as roughly 2-3 hours of processing work... It'll never be as good as the original, but you can get a surprisingly passable print out of it.

On the other hand, if you just can't be bothered dealing with her again, that's understandable... I guess the thing to consider would be how much it would damage your reputation as a business vs the hassle of dealing with that particular customer again. If it's a lot of hassle and you don't think it'll make that much of a difference, then don't bother. On the other hand, if you do decide to do it, I'd say the postprocessing path is probably quite a bit less painfun than reshooting...

Oh, and happy birthday :) And good luck with the house hunting.

Ahem, actually, only looked at your message, not the image to start off with... It's not even a 2x3, is it?
Here's what an upsize to something like 3300x2200px looks like, the rest of the work would involve lots of cloning and healing, and occasionally painting bits of her from scratch...

This woman needs a painter, not a photographer.

ROFL! I agree! And that picture was taken years ago. I don't know if I have the originals anymore from the last shoot, but it's not a pretty sight. I just don't think I could recreate that from what she looks like now.

I looked at your upsize Jelena. That's about what I came up with and just told her it wasn't do-able. This woman is so picky about everything, it just wouldn't be worth it. I'm not in business, I usually only shoot for friends or relatives. So no worries there. But she a client of my aunt's, which is how I ended up with her the first time. But after what she put me through last time, my aunt would understand if I refused. LOL!

I had a great day, but the house turned out to be a bust. It was soooo tiny! About half the size of what I'm in now (and that's too small). I need more room, not less.

I am feeling quite chuffed; my photo of boxing hares is featured in my local photographic society newsletter - it won the annual print competition. I suspect that it is the closest I shall ever come to getting published!

You are published - even if they did sort of leave your details out of the PDF.
That's a great distinction, Sara, and a great picture. Well done, congratulations and three cheers :)

blurr is a girl's best friend - especially if she's short of other friends, which doesn't seem unlikely...

I too a bit of naked flesh from one of the nude entries hereabouts and ploppe it on with a blending mode.

Woo hoo!!!! That's most excellent, Sara!! Huge congratulations! The published part falls second to the winning the competition part. Good for you!

Congratulations Sara! That's huge, gettting a shot published!

Kelli, happy belated birthday wishes, and just keep looking for another house. As for Ms Super-picky client, well, if you know any really difficult anal-retentive photogs in the are, maybe you could steer her towards them? They would get along just great! :-)

Congrats Sara! I doubt this will be the last time you will ever be published lol. Just look at this as your first of many :)

Thanks all. I have just got back from a lovely day out - a six mile walk around and through the Hole of Horcum, a lovely sunny blue sky day, and I didn't take a single photo!

And I am now curled up on the sofa with a very pleasant tall glass of Pimms - bliss!

Congratulations Sara, this is not the closest thing but the start of more to come. Bask well in the sunshine of your achievement and keep warm by its glow for you deserve it. Nicely done :)

All the best to you and yours

MAX!

Is the Workshop function limited to each individual image, or can I send a link to the entire Workshop?

And can I send a link to a Workshop image and/or the entire Workshop to anyone?

I did a sort of model shoot today and I need some help and advice; I want some opinions, and I don't want to just throw this young woman's pics up for anyone to see just yet.

Can I send the Workshop link through a PM?

Help!!!

SH*T!!!

Never mind, I see I cannot set it up to browse them all.....

Oh well.....if anyone wants to volunteer to look at a couple of these and talk to me about 'em, lemme know.....

I think you have to link to each individual photo -- you are the only one with permission to "browse" through the images in the Workshop Folder.

You may be able to make a new folder, exercise the option to hide the folder, and send a link to that -- it may work differently. You can test it yourself all by logging-out (turn off the cookie/auto-login options), and entering the link you're testing into your borwser, so you'll be on the site in "guest" mode.

Hey, that worked!

Thanks!!! You have to either go back, or click on the collection in the details box, but it's very doable.

Okay.....so anyone wanna help me out since I now have a hidden collection that can be viewed?

Welll.....per my post above, I'm somewhat troubled by the results of a model shoot that a friend invited me to this evening.

I don't know why some of these have the.......edge that they do.

I'd like someone to tell me what they think.

It might be a good idea for me to steer away from this type of work.

I like 'em, but I'm not necessarily sure that they're.....typically acceptable.

Miniature 2 results are up, congrats to BrianR for getting the top score!

P.S. Any delays in this week's FU is entirely my fault. Previous delays are only mostly my fault.

Somehow the whole concept of fault for the seeming delays in a delightful volunteer project eludes me......8>)
