Is there anyway to find your total shutter activations for a 5D?

I don't think so

When you get a service done ask them to check it for you and they will.

I believe that I can take your camera apart and get the total number of activations. Send it to my mailing address that I'm PM'ing to you and I'll get right to it. Shouldn't take longer than a year. Oh the number thing seems to work better if there is L glass installed on the camera. Just saying.

I don't know if you can get the same software for a pc, but there is a handy little program called EXIF Viewer for the Mac, that includes the number of camera actuations when reading the Exif data. I don't know if it's 100% accurate, but as far as I can tell, it's very close (I keep my image numbering sequential and don't reset it)

I did a google search for the Mac software and there was a link on that page for a Canon/Windows based software, probably worth giving it a go.

Reading the actual number of actuations is, AFAIK, not possible with Canon cameras prior to Digic III (5D is Digic II). FOr newer cams, the Canon SDK does, I believe, provide a way to read the actuations, and some software can do so.

Unfortunately that does not work on the 5D :(

As has been mentioned the only way to find out is through a Canon service center
