You would have to give a lot more information....What kind of business...what's the name of the business...do you have a general idea of what you want...where in the world are you?....etc...etc...etc...

Hi NathanW

Thank you for your reply!

I was thinking of a African acacia tree on one side of a African savannah. The company name is Global Locations and it will be promoting filming locations. I am currently in South African but will be moving to Wales in a few months time.

It's the only reason we keep him around.

Good luck with your business. Sounds like one that requires the right connections more than anything.

Sounds more like you are looking for a banner for a website than a company logo, normally a logo is just that - something that is recognisable as your mark or stamp think of the W for the Sony Walkman phones and you are more in keeping with traditional logos.

If it is a banner you are after then considering the companies business is based around finding filming locations I would have thought that obtaining a stunning image for that would be right up your street ;)

Good luck with your new venture though.

Hi Mark-A

Thank you!

Would you recommend something more simple as a logo?

well it depends really, it sounds to me like the business will be dealing with big corporate businesses in which case I would keep the logo simple and clean and then it can be used as letter heads and the like, you can always spruce up the website with a nice scenic shot and just overlay the logo in to that.

All just my opinion though of course and others may well disagree :)

Mark-A

Thank you!

I think that is very practical advice.

I will try and come up with something.

I would suggest that you concentrate on getting some capital first - then work on getting a logo.

I think that is the beauty of a web base business is that you don̢۪t need a big start up capital

Heh - on average, the costs for starting a web based business, including data base, card handling, web design, business hosting, server space, mail/inquiry handling and various sundry and miscellaneous items like tax accounting, etc., expenses is around $12,000 (US).

I wish you all the best, but even web based business is expensive.
