the whites are blown out, should have used a polarizer to eliminate the reflections ,...

Plus sun flair and isn't the white slightly blown out?

Oversaturated, and that statue is distracting.....

Hardly seems worth it. I like the Statue of Libery but would it not have been possible to get both the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan Skyline both in the shot? Sorry if that is a dumb question - not very familiar with New York

Blown highlights and the composition is distracting. Would have worked better with that statue toward the lower left and that patch of land not in front of the nose of the plane. I also see a bit of glare that could have been avoided.
I say it's a 4 for a good effort.

Geesh, it is even worse the more you look at it.

I would be so happy to shoot that same scene for 100,000!

I gave this one a 2

It's public domain, so do with it what you will...

The sun flare is from the cockpit canopy they were shooting through. You can't use a polarizer when shooting through a plastic canopy; you get bright-colored bands from the internal stresses in the plastic. You can try this when shooting through an airliner window. It's bad.

They definitely could have done a better job with this, and it's appalling how much money they spent for a mediocre result :-P

He didn't get paid $328k - that was the cost of all the resources involved in staging the shot. (excluding the cost to businesses in NY)

ETA: but you're right about the crappy editing job done by them.

And here I thought you were a unique and original artiste, but this is blatant plagiarism of a prior work. Either that, or great minds think alike.

(Speaking of plagiarism, you were not around last night, so I filled in and did a Godzilla edit to someone's "help me edit this" request.)

I'm too tired to find and critique it. I'll just give you a C+ and call it a night.

So the F16 pilot operated the aircraft and the camera?

Must have been an F-16D (two seat) fighter.
