Firstly, our apologies for creating a new thread for our 'HOPE' Coffee Table Book Project. If you have not read the initial thread you can view it here.
We were more than happy when we had 95 photographers signing up to submit a shot for our 'HOPE' Coffee Table photograph book, the original deadline for submission was 1st May but sadly to date we have just 25 images from 20 members.
So, to try and get this project back on track we have done the following...
Extended the deadline for submission to the 1st June 2009 and enlisted the help of Karen krnodil to 'chase up' on images.
So, if you signed up and have not yet submitted get ready for contact from Karen and, if you were unaware of our project and can get an image to us by the 1st June please let us know by replying below.
A couple of links..
'Hope' book details
the person behind the project
Image Requirements:
1. Largest Possible image size.
2. TIFF (16 bit) Format Preferable - if this isn't possible then JPEG
format.
3. Images can be landscape or portrait orientation.
4. If you'd like your shot to have a specific border please send us
the TIFF file WITHOUT the border and the small JPEG version with the border.
Our designers will then get back to us and let us know if the border works
with the book layout or not.
Information required:
1. Photographers Name
2. Location - This can be the location the image was taken or where
the photographer is from.
3. Image title
4. Quote - if you have a specific quote you would like to be used
alongside your image please include this in your email.
5. We'd like to know why you chose your subject, where you got your
inspiration, what your idea of hope is and any information you feel is
relevant to the image you have taken.
6. Your email address - we may need to contact you during the editing
process and would appreciate you letting us know the best email address for
getting in touch with you.
Note: We have had issues receiving images over 20mb so suggest you use yousendit to send the files (its free) and send the file to either fundraising@rosemcgill.co.uk or Natalya@thejaggers.plus.com. both email addresses are monitored by Natalya ( Talj) and she will get in touch with you to let you know we have received your image and information as soon as she can.

I wasn't able to get the yousendit system work.
I did get a large jpeg in that I'm hoping is acceptable.
I can send a bigger file if the FTP link would work for me. |

Oh and I was having trouble sending the 16bit tiff version so I uploaded it to my web site and provided a link. Please let me know if that doesn't work and I'll get it to you some other way.

Karen, thank-you very much for 'stepping in' here, much appreciated :)
I've just spoken to T Talj, she has got got home after a 12 hour day and I've asked her to take a rest, she has received many (many) pm's from you all today so please bear with her for a while longer :)
I'll echo Karen's quote above and suggest using the sendit like for all images - it works fine for me :)
Thanks again peeps :)

I know I signed up initially and I fully intended to add a shot but last month was absolutely crazy for me. I still don't think I have any shots that are right for this book, but I will certainly keep trying. |

I have a great shot for this but can't add it to my portfolio since i'm not a paying member anymore, but you can see it here:
www.tezmercer.co.uk -> personal -> New Zealand -> Whakatane (at the bottom)
I can't link directly to the page either, sorry!
But if you would like it for the book then feel free. I have it printed at 12x18 and it rules!

I took another look through my portfolio for images which might *possibly* work for this, and found a few candidates -- let me know if you want to use any of them, with or without borders/captions ....

Please bear with me everyone, I am currently snowed under with another brain tumour project so I have all your messages unopened. I was hoping to get to them today but I haven't had chance so I will reply to as many of you as I can tomorrow (Wednesday).
Karen, thank you so much for stepping in and helping us out, I really appreciate it :) |

Hi andi, natalya,
Just send 2 high-res images in two seperate emails. Hope you get them. I did encounter a hiccup when I tried to send to the fundraising email address, so I sent to the other.
Hope everything is going smoothly with the project. |

Thanks for the reminder Karen. I've got a couple of candidates from a recent 25 mile walk/hike. I'll post Andi or talj with the links for their opinion. |

I think I have downloaded all the images sent to me over the last couple of days and I have updated our BOOK OF HOPE page so that those submitted have a grey background. I don't have time right now to get back to you all but have tried to say thanks, if you havent received a message from me please don't take it personally, I am just totally snowed under right now :(
If you sent an image and your name hasn't been greyed post here and I will check I have received it.
Cheers,
Natalya |
