Its Bike to Work Week next week here in Spokane. Anyone else have a Bike to Work Week coming up? Our little city has really gotten behind the event again this year.
Cheers,

I wouldn't mind something like this. However, I only work about 6 miles from my house...an easy bike ride. But the path to work is horrible...no path at all! I'd be on highways and blvds the whole way...may even be killed !

Hmmm...lemme see. I live 56km (35) miles from work and there are no bike paths going there. Nope... not me. I will however as a token of support ride my exercise bike when I get home. :O)

Sounds good in theory, but in many places I don't think it's feasibly possible (for safety reasons - no bike paths). It's just the way our (USA) infrastructure is put together.
That being said, even with bike paths I don't think I could do the 132 mile round trip to work! :-) |

You could investigate "Move closer to work week" or "Smart car to work year"... ;) |

Believe me...considered it all. Wasn't so bad when I only drove north one day a week (telecommuted the other 4 days), then the contract fell out and was reassigned to work that can't leave the building. Driving north 5 days a week now. :-/
Move? Nope. Kids in school, happy wife, horses, lifestyle, etc...
Smart Car? No f'ing way. I want to LIVE! Northern VA / DC traffic - nuff said on that one. I'm getting around 32mpg on my Honda Accord - that'll have to be enough for now. :-) |

Ya, I hear ya. I am actually intrigued by the Smart Car, but even I hesitate a bit about the safety. |

I saw one of those in the clackamas town center mall, and as I was looking at it a mother pushed her kids by in one of those little plastic car strollers. I looked at the stroller, then at the smart car, and back to the stroller. I had an epiphany. Why not just put pull out handles on the smart car, and market it as a car/stroller! There's no need to own both!

I'd love to ride my bike to work....but...it would be difficult to put the wife and the daughter on the handlebars at the same time. |

Get the limited Art Roflmao Road Rage Edition...
I'd bike to work, but riding up the back steps to my office above the garage is more dangerous than an unarmed Smart Car. |
