Hello Everyone,
Just thought I should pop in and introduce myself.
My name is Jemma and I've been mucking around with photography for about a year and a half so far. I've learnt alot and come a long way over that time and I'm currently saving for my first D-slr. I live in QLD Australia and have had no photography training at all so you may have to bear with me if I don't understand exactly what your trying to tell me at first.

I'm hoping to learn lots more from the challenges and members comments. At the moment it doesn't seem like my camera is on the database, but I've filled out the contact Us form for equipment addition so I'll just wait.

I have some of my work on here if anyone is interested in having a look since I have nothing on here as yet- //frozenmoments.redbubble.com/
(I hope its ok to post that?)

I mainly take nature, macro & animal (mostly equine) shots but have just begun to experiment a bit with diffrent sort of photography.

Anyway, I have seen some amazing work on here while browsing through and I look forward to meeting some of you and learning heaps.

We need more Texans. That's what this site needs. And Godzilla pics. Yep, that's what it needs.

Thanks Everyone for the kind welcome!
I've entered my first challenge (Light) and its going pretty well with voting.

Judi- Thank you :)
Actually, looking through your profile, you wouldn't happen to live around the Central Highlands would you? I think I recognize your name and work as I live around the Minefields as well =)

I live an hour or so from Emerald.
No you haven't photographed me, but I'm pretty sure I read about you and your work in the local news, right? You won an award from the APPA (Not sure if thats right or not but I think thats what I recall.)

Anyway, great to see a local on here =) I've only lived in the region for about 4 years, before that we were further south.
It's starting to get a bit nippy in the nights now, isn't it? I was hoping this year would be a warmer winter Lol. Heat doesn't bother me that much (Although fencing in 45C isn't fun) but cold does.

Ter- Thank you.
Yeah, I'm surprised to see how many of us there are on here.

My first challenge entry appears to be going well. I was pretty nervous about it, it feels like putting a piece of yourself out there for others to rate Lol.

I'm not sure if I should breathe a sigh of relief that I entered the right sort of shot or not yet, but it seems promising.

Welcome new one. Nice gallery you have there. I am happy to hear that your first challenge entry is doing so well. It must be a geographic thing.
Now all you need is an "Update" button. : )

Hey Jemma. Yup...you were right in your memory. I am always in the newspaper...I don't know if that is a good thing or not...lmao! Actually there will be more of my photos in this Fridays CQ News as well as the Blackwater Herald (I think that runs on Tuesdays).

It is getting a bit cold....just ask my dog...she begs for her pyjamas by about 4pm. But I love the cold out here...at least you can get warm....but the summers are nasty...thankfully we don't have the humidity.

Your first score is great....I can see you getting a few ribbons down the track....so go and make us Aussies proud.
