The rebates apply to the 50D, Rebel XSi and XS, Speedlites, Twin Lite, Ring Lite, and a whole bunch of lenses.

Rebates are for purchases made between May 3, 2009 - July 11, 2009.

Wouldn't you know it?...I just bought the "EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM" lens a couple of weeks ago! :-(

Return it and re-buy it?

Hmmm. I'll have to check the return policy. The good thing is that I bought it at a local brick-n-mortar Samy's Camera store. ;-)

Check with Samy's - they'll probably honor the rebate anyway.

I think most places are 14 days on stuff like this but might be flexible if you're slightly over, especially when you're not really returning it. I buy most of my camera stuff at London Drugs and they've been really good in working with me. Who knows? They might have a price-match guarantee that they can apply for this. No harm in talking to them :)

My family bought me a Lowpro Slingshot for my b'day a month ago and last week London Drugs had them $60 off. He said to just bring in my receipt and they'd refund the difference. Turned out they'd bought at Futureshop so I bought a new one at the sale price and returned it to Futureshop with no questions asked.

Canons mail in rebates generally have a 30 day retroactive policy, pretty much to keep people from returning and rebuying and then having retailers complain to their canon reps. It wouldn't suprise me it they had the same kind of thing built into their instant rebates.

I wonder where I could find this out?
