Once again, I turn to my geeky DPC friends (I mean that in a complimentary way!) for assistance...

Is there any easy way to archive stuff I recorded on my DirecTV HD DVR? For example, I have this year's Super Bowl on there, and I don't want to just erase it without making a copy I can save somehow. I have the DVR hooked up to a DVD recorder, but obviously that's not going to save it in HD.

Just wondering if there's some sort of fancy, not terribly expensive method of transferring these sorts of things so they can be archived and I can free up the space on the DVR? It does have HDMI outputs, if that's of any use.

Check out weaknees.com. They used to have a mod that allowed you to connect the DVR to your PC, and save to the PC drive.
