Good question. It worked for me in Photoshop CS4. |

Anyone know if Topaz Clean and DeNoise are legal in Basic? Those are part of Topaz Vivacity.

You may
⢠use filters or stand-alone utilities designed to preserve image integrity (such as Neat Image, Unsharp Mask, Dust & Scratches, and color correction tools). These filters must be applied uniformly to the entire image, and must not be used in such a way that their use becomes a feature. No âeffectsâ filters may be applied to your image, with the exception of Noise and Gaussian Blur.
Topaz Denoise is a standalone filter also, I use it in preference to Neat Image most of the time now. I have no reason to believe it's not legal, but you can't use ANY of these noise reduction filters to hyper-smooth an image in basic, that's no longer "preserving image integrity" but instead creating an effect.

| Thanks Robert. It seems to be a matter of degree then. And "preserving image integrity" has a bit of room for interpretation too. |

In regard to this, would the various grain functions found in Silver Efex Pro (used to introduce film-like grain into the digital image during B&W conversion) be legal? |
