That's a very fine duck shot. Great lighting, sharpness and use of background to isolate your subject.

Awesome photo. Was that taken this week? Would have been perfect for NG Challenge.

I agree. I hope you have other ones that you can submit. Love the DOF. Very nice job. Ducks over hear are wearing thermal undies and golashes.

I'm noticing, that quite often, we can squeeze any photo into any challenge by simply changing titles. I'd think you could put it in our current challenge,Road Signs Revisited, and call it: "Viaduct Ahead". |

thx for all the comments, I have already submitted one for NG, and I figured in road signs I would get slammed for not meeting challenge...
I used a telephoto lens, on tripod, but I was only 4-5 feet from her, she held still for quite a bit, got 4 good shots, before my dog decided to try and eat her, he was what she was looking back at. lucky for her she can fly and alluded my dog.
Thanks for all the great comments.
p.s. my favorite part is all the water droplets under her belly still.

Would you mind telling what lens (Brand and specs) you used for this shot?
Thanks!

Wow. These are incredible duck shots. I like the nice blue hues under the wings. Did you do any post editing on the images? The depth of field is very nice. |

WOW!!! I'm really glad you said Canon 75-300mm because I have this same lens. I will have to take my camera to the park and get some shots too. What post editing did you do? Any level adjustment, etc?
Incredible Shots!!!

I did some sharpening, very slight contrast adjustment, thats it,, and resized of course.
p.s. I find with birds getting them still is the trick, and getting them to be close to you and then background as far away as possible works well, maybe later I will upload some swan ones : ).
