I can see how easy it would be to become addicted to this type of processing. Here is my first attempt. I will be playing more on some old photos that I thought could not be saved.

Hey Michelle, I'd like to join the challenge. I was thinking about lurking, but have decided I'll learn more by participating.

Good idea Julianne - from what I have seen so far, I think a lot of us are going to be learning a LOT of new stuff. Glad you will be joining us!

I'll probably start a new thread for pictures on April 30 because I am going to be quite busy May 1,2, and 3. Just when I thought the load was going to lighten, people find more things for me to do lol.

I took this one yesterday at a high school lacrosse match.

Pretty nice action shot! I d like to see the resized original file too. Thus somebody can perceive better the differences! :)

Sign me up too, please. I downloaded the 30 day trial yesterday. I've heard so much about it from the Bear. Now I won't have to beg, borrow, or steal his computer to try it on my own images!

Here is the original straight from the camera and the processed version.

But I like it when you beg, borrow & steal from me; makes me feel so *useful*... BTW, while I got yer attention, we just ran out of Orange juice....

I commented on this. Did you use a preset on this image or did you tweak? I really like this.

This is a picture of my son in front of the old Tiger Stadium in Detroit that has since been torn down.

I had an interesting experience with this one today. I was out taking pictures on my lunch hour. I was taking shots of these railroad cars and I noticed a guy watching me from on top of the building across the road. After I finished, I hopped in my truck and started to drive away.

Another truck coming from the other direction blocked me off so I couldn't pass. He rolled his window down and asked me what I was doing taking pictures of those train cars. I told him that I am a hobbiest photographer and I take pictures around town of old buildings and trains etc. He said that after 9/11 that they must take this stuff seriously and that the guy on top of the building radioed him and said that he better check me out. I assured him that I wasn't a terrorist and I didn't want to blow anything up.

He told me that there was fertilizer in the cars and I could mix it with diesel fuel and make a bomb. I thought that was very informative. I told him that if I wanted fertilizer, I would buy it from the hardware store. He told me they don't have this kind of fertilizer in the hardware store. Once again, very informative. I wanted to ask him if another terrorist/artist painted that graffiti on the cars and if they were just as worried about them. However, I decided to keep my mouth shut. After a couple more minutes, he finally let me go.

Never in my life did I ever imagine a camera striking so much fear in people.

A most interesting tool!

This is a three-shot handheld pano from CocaCola Field in Buffalo, NY. I like the way (vibrance, I think) brought the detail in the shadows up without blowing my highlights to smithereens. Try that with curves, whydontcha?

What a story. I'm starting to realize the whole world has gone insane. I can't even take my camera & my kid to the park without feeling the other parents sizing me up.

An interesting group on Flickr, strictly for photos accompanied by such stories. I found it when I posted my "transparency" entry on Flickr, and it was invited to the group.

Even on my street - the one I live on - same thing. I always take my point-and-shoots with me when I walk my dog. I get pix of all sorts of things to use later on for textures or whatever. One guy in his driveway asks me what I am taking pictures of. I felt like a criminal!

I'm finding the built in noise reduction works nicely in areas with detail, but in solid areas like the sky, it seems to create banding and blotchiness instead of making it smooth. Anyone else experiencing this?

Are we posting our images in this thread or do we get a shiny new one? :)

New is good, unless colorcarnival got busy a day early and doesn't have time to set one up...

My busyness keeps flip-flopping - but I am definitely setting a new thread up tonight. I'm a glutton for punishment and will probably stay up for the FS rollover lol.
