I am very pleased to announce that after extreme technical difficulties I have succeeded in completing the editing of my first Wedding. I'm creating this thread as a way of organising the images I've posted up here so that they're in order and make sense!
I was hired to shoot 2 full days of activity in the Derbyshire countryside:
<-Taken outside the cottages the friends and family were staying in.
On the morning of Sat 4th we went for a walk in the hills, I suggested the bride bring along her dress and she was more than happy to play along:
We also did some rock climbing:
In the afternoon there was a Bride's vs Groom's family rounders match (similar to Baseball for those who've never heard of it):
On Sunday I was in charge of all the normal wedding-y shots. Getting ready:
Bride and Groom + Bridal party shots (including a stop off at the farm and adventure playground!):
The Ceremony:
Family shots:
Speeches, (cheese) cake and the reception:

aaaand me!!
Hope you enjoy the pictures, I had a blast taking them. If anyone has any comments/ suggestions/ critiques please feel free!
J
ETA more photos!

I think you have the "eye" and your perspective makes for an artistic series. I'm sure your client will be pleased, good luck on future weddings. A pleasure to look at, thanks for sharing. |

I truly enjoyed looking at these photos. I just did my first wedding, and my photos are horrible. I love this series though, I know the bride and groom are going to love them. Any pointers? lol |

To be honest I was really spoiled on this shoot - the couple were really chilled out, happy to experiment and needed very little direction in terms of posing. The location was unbelievable - Chatsworth House in Derbyshire is a location most seasoned wedding 'togs would give their left nut to shoot. Also I had a really great time personally, I was put up in a great cottage with a bunch of crazy Glaswegians (party guests!!) who I got on with amazingly, all of their family and friends were awesome. 3 days of partying and photography, if only my life could be like that all the time! Basically I don't think if I did 1000 more jobs it would touch this one.
I want them to get married again. |

the bubble shots especially are fabulous. I really like 783211 - the groom looks to have a monocle on. Closer inspection showed it to be a bubble!
Very well done. You sound like you had a good time into the bargain.
I'm sure the happy couple will love them all.

Wow these are great!!!!
Let me get this straight?? she went 'rock climbing' and holding lambs in her dress all before the wedding?? I'd be petrified of getting it dirty....
That's what makes them special

Yeah, she actually had two dresses though so it wasn't all that hair raising - they got them second hand so they were really inexpensive compared to new ones! |

Hi James,
OK, I am usually pretty pretty honest when it comes to wedding shots (most of all mine), but for a first wedding these are brilliant mate, I dont mean that in a patronising way either, they certainly dont look like it was your first wedding. They dont feel forced, technically they look great, nice subtle processing - they really are very good. I am sure the B&G will love them. good work, I look forward to seeing more. |
