Yah, the "rule of thirds" is an easy way to approximate the fibonacci proportions. For what it's worth, here's a link to a plugin that will overlay the fibonnaci spiral (and other stuff) in photoshop.

Quite true. Don't forget the power of the RIGHT third. Placing the subject in the right third in generally more preferable than the left. One time that wouldn't work is when the background is so strongly dominated by line drawing the viewer to the back. In those cases, the left third is preferable. |
