So, one thing I've found is that my domain host does not support any recent version of python. Why do you care, you ask? That's an excellent question! My lastest TeamSuck result script is written in python, version 3, and the version running/supported on my hosted domain is version 2.3. What few features of python I used in the script are apparently not part of python 2.3.
The short story is that, right now, I don't have an easy way for someone to click on a web page to get the generated results. I am willing to share the script itself, of someone else has an environment with python3. I'll try to do a better job of getting results up by the following morning, at the latest.
In other news, the current FU has been in touch with me, and once the interview is complete I'll get it posted. The next FU will be picked on Tuesday. Do people like knowing who it will be once it's picked, or should it be a surprise (to everyone other than the FU) when I post the interview? |

I love surprises! Especially when they are jewelry, or chocolate, but FU's will do too! |

Speaking of surprises, I'm shocked at this score. I was expected a 4.5 at best...

I'm currently recovering from the shock and surprise of finding my Crayons & Colored Pencils shot sitting with a 6.3, 9 comments, and 1 fave. HOLLY CRAP

I'm very pleased with my zero scores across the board in all current challenges. I do, however, have a possible sub-5 for Trains... Do I want the weekly agony of that? |

Go for it! I will admit though, that I self dq'd in the textures challenge. I've only ever done that once before in all the years I've been here. |

I dunno. I think maybe I'm reaching the end of the line as far as challenges for awhile. I just really haven't been all that interested in entering them at all. I kinda know in advance what will suck (and not really in a good way). I tend to more enjoy seeing the gems that I find in the challenges than seeing how my own work fares. I'm sure it's a phase.... |

If your taking some time off from the challenges I can support you there I was thinking the same thing, My most recent run up of entries has been total SUCK city and I thought I would just back off for a while but the Crayons & Colored Pencils challenge shot an idea into my head for a change and you have left me a short but sweet comment and I hope you keep doing that.
Thank you Deb.

Deb, I̢۪m in about the same place. I guess the straw was in last weeks challenges. I watched as this image come out a full point over this one , it̢۪s a butterfly for Christ̢۪s sake, from RAW to posting took about 5 minutes, and would not been entered except for the DPCO (<- stupid-stupid). Sure the street shot had a bit of motion blur, but at least it had a bit of soul, a story , something. Ok yes the guy checking his watch bothered some, but the crop was important, so the arms in the foreground and the trees in the background formed a heart, all to no avail as I doubt anyone noticed.
Maybe it̢۪s time to work on a couple side things for a wile..

Heh, Max - I've only left one comment so far in that challenge - did a quick run-through and yours is the one that caught my attention. Good on you!
And Alan, I did not join in on the DPCO again for precisely the reason you mentioned - the need to enter a challenge even when I didn't really want to. And to try to shoot stuff I didn't want to.
In the long run, though, I do enjoy (or at least used to) the "challenge" of the challenge - the goal of having something to shoot each week. I did enjoy shooting for trains (that should be no surprise) but am still not sure the point of entering. Usually I simply enjoy the odd comment or two, but lately I haven't even managed to inspire those. Like I said, probably a phase. :-) And I still enjoy shooting, and I do like my own pictures just fine. |

Perhaps, if people know who the FU is ahead of time, there might be a surprise question or two that could be sent to meyers for the interview. You should always try to get at least one question from posthumous representing the twilight zone. |

Hey all
Deb, it's just a phase, sit down with your head between your knees for awhile. :-)
No entry in for crayon, but will probably go vote/comment...
Preparing to go to BC for a couple weeks and am wrapping up tapping this year's two maple trees...they have given me almost 120 litres of sap, so going by the usal ratio of 40/1, that should mean I could get 3 litres of syrup once I collect another 4 1/4 litres, which is probably what's sitting out there right now. Then I will reluctantly pull the spiles and let the trees rest and heal. These two trees have done a heroic job, despite (or because of?) their poor location by my compost bins!
Also, after morning job today, I stopped by local store to get some chips and on impulse had the store owner choose me a Cash for Life card (yes, just like my recent Hope entry)...and I won $50! Normally I never get more than $4 or $6! So I am going to buy him some nice big slabs of smoked salmon as a thank-you and ongoing bribe so he picks future winners for me :-)
The only fly in the sap...gave the Belgian bf the heave-ho. Very interesting man, very intense...and also amazingly critical, and at times bullying to hide his own insecurities, stopped treating me with appreciation and respect, wouldn't call me or return my phone calls...I found it very very suspicious that he didn't want me to take pix of him with a group of his racing friends out on the road, he very deliberately *ahem* forgot to call me before they left on the ride, and conveniently forgot to take his cel along too...and I was repeatedly told by him 'You are sooo insecure'...that is also his judgement on most people.
I also didn't like the way that he transferred his bitterness, negativity and poor attitude towards women to his son, esp when I was around. Had that garbage happen before with othr guys, so new rule for me, in future I am not dating single dads. But man do I feel good, being the one doing the dumping for a change as opposed to being the one being dumped!! |

How about just not dating misogynist bullies? :D
I like the idea of an open call for questions on each FU. But I also like surprises. I'd say, do whichever one will be less work for you, meyer. That's what I base most of my decisions on. |

The second Featured User thread, about Writeheart, has been posted. Enjoy!
The next FU will be chosen after the Tuesday results are in. Remember, you need to enter something to be considered for the FU drawing that week! |

I am honored! Thank you all so much. I have missed you all on my little hiatus, but I am back in full swing now and can't wait to relearn everything I have forgotten :-) |
