And another on the long list of reasons why I don't watch TV.

Although I don't agree with making it into a reality tv show the concept has merit. A lot of times the it is the employees, not upper management, who realize which co-workers are valuable and which are, shall we say, expendable. It is amazing for me to watch at my company that the ones who are always trying prove how fabulous they are to the owners and CFO are usually the most worthless! |

I agree it is a new low, but the concept may have some benefit if they do it right. As previously said, the coworkers may have more of a clue as to who is most expendable, management sometimes manages by spreadsheet, but in a small company they are likely to be more in touch. However, coworkers may also have some axes to grind. It could give some interesting insight into the psychology of working relationships, though I expect the producers will focus on the alliance making and backstabbing, like with Survivor. The company chosen for this show will certainly be picked on the basis of interesting personalities and volatile relationships.
I don't watch a lot of TV on my own, but if my wife watches this one, then I'll be seeing it.

WHHYYYYY!!!!
Why would anyone agree to be on this show? I would want absolutely no part. I doubt they are going to give them anything for it. The article said they "didn't say", which to me means no. If they were going to pay, they would be touting it around like a charity. I had a couple friends that did Tool Academy on VH1, made total asses of themselves, took off work, made it through 2 episodes and didn't get a dime! In other words, they probably lost money. It's not worth the "fame" which is little more than your friends and family back home gossiping about you for a couple days, possibly a week and then not caring anyway.
That is the beauty of reality TV to the stations. Really, really cheap garbage that people eat up like McDonalds cheese burgers.
But boy do I love House, Fringe, Simpsons, Family guy and Lie to Me. Currently fox is my favorite station. But I watch all those shows online so I avoid the news and the commercials. I don't have TV. |

I wonder if the employees can pick the boss as the one to go. After all, he is shirking his duties by not making the decision himself. |

And even if that wasn't the case, sometimes the boss really is the worst employee. Hmm... |

I am not so sure this is a new low for Fox. Remember "The Simple Life" ? |

Yes, but I feel that show was a case of Paris Hilton and whats-her-face making fun of themselves and intentionally playing up the rich spoiled bimbo image. |
