I am having some luck in the stock market these days. I just wish I had more than a few bucks from last years tax refund to invest!

I was ranked the 5th best trader for the 15 day, 1 month time period. My 6th month return is 70%, which has me feeling pretty good.

6 month average

Nice. It always somehow plays out differently when it's real money though, at least for me. =[

What's your portfolio look like? You go long banks recently?

It is real money. It is just a small investment, but it is everything I have.

I started out playing some game stocks. GA and ATVI last year. I made a good return of 30% on AMD, but recently I purchased LVS (Las Vegas Sands) for $2 a share. That one has been making me a killing.

where do you get your advice?

Here is a fun fact for you, the Dow Jones has posted the best 4 week returns since 1933. I wouldn't be pinning my hopes on the success of a long position. Perhaps it is more of a bear squeeze.

But, that is an excellent return. Perhaps the prudent thing to do would be to take a few chips off the board.

good luck!

Then I think you might want to think hard about that.... Try diehards.org for the opposing position to what your doing. Good luck... It might work for ya... Could be different this time :-)

I am going to sit on LVS for a while. I personally don't see why the stock won't hit 20 in a year or so. They will have exclusive rights on some huge multi-billion dollar casino operations in China. They were having credit issues getting it built, much like MGM, but as things settle down they are finishing up the project.

I am going long on this one!

My lucky streak has continued. I bought some MGM at $5 a share and it soon after shot to $6.85. Not a bad couple of hours.
