I'm in for the Free Study, but I don't really do anything other than "basic" editing. I have some ideas for Rock Song; gotta increase my chances of getting FU'd!

Found another pigeon shot from the airport and played with this one some....

Think he might want to hop a ride?

I'm in for Rock Song. I really, really like it -- mainly because I was able to make it look like it looked in my head. The biggest problem was the title. The first line of the song nails the picture, but the title not as much so. Oh well.

Wonder if you could save on airfare if you could train the pigeons to take the place of planes. You know like they do in cartoons, where 50 birds can pick a person up and carry them? Maybe that is what the Newark airport is secretly working on.

Nah!

They're working with Homeland Security looking for terrorists.

I have the same problem with my Rock Song, Karma. In my case, it's the first line of the chorus. But it's not a shot with mass appeal to begin with so I'm not worried that will hurt my score much. :-) Hoping one or two will pick up on it, and I do like the shot!

Oh, and I'm heading to Afghanistan for a week, more or less, on Wednesday. When traveling via military airlift, one never really knows for sure when one will leave or get back. It's all an adventure.... Still trying to decide whether to take the Rebel and the kit lens or the P&S. I have to pack reasonably light as far as extras because I won't have access to laundry facilities (hence need a week's worth of clothes) and we have to carry everything everywhere (ie no "room" to put stuff in). So no laptop this trip - wouldn't have anywhere to secure it and don't want the weight. I'll try to check in from the community computers when I can, though.

Take the Rebel.

Be safe.

Those sandy places seem to be heating up a bit, do please be careful!

I took this ion the square of Copàn the night I got there.

This is for Don......and I actually like it and get it.......8>)

Strangely, this place has opened my eyes to so many different kinds of expression.

Go figure.....

I shall be careful. And I think maybe the Rebel, the kit lens, and the Lensbaby. The Rebel is ALMOST a point and shoot. Lots lighter and smaller than the 30D anyway. As it is, I ifgure I'll be kinda busy most of the time with work stuff (as is the case there) but with luck, I hope to run into Cory ( Fetor) for dinner one night if we can figure out a way to get in touch with each other there.

I wish you a safe journey Deb. And I look forward to seeing your pics when you get back!
03/29/2009 10:02:27 AM · #640
Deb please be careful and safe. Take the Rebel doesn't it have the Lensbaby on it? Would enjoy seeing that part of the world thru the eyes of your Lensbaby.

Deb, you be careful in the warm sandy places, y'hear?

I'm in (or will be once I get back from work) for Free Study and Rock Song. The latter is a tight fit but I could only do so much, unless I choose to reshoot completely.

Question, oh ye of Suckdom.... I don't think I've missed entering a Free Study since they started. I know I hit all of them last year for sure. Yet I don't have anything I feel compelled to enter this month - it's been a slow month for shooting, I guess. Do I find something and just stick it in just because, or do I sit this one out?

Put something in for the heck of it and turn off your scores. Even better, send me a list of your choices and I will pick one for you heh heh :D

Oooh. I may take you up on that, Michelle. Probably tomorrow, though, since it be bedtime here soon. I'll go back through the dregs. I do have some positively horrid shots of old men playing basketball in an underlit gym.... but no, even I don't wish to revisit those. And I never have scores on to begin with, so that part isn't a problem! I just don't wish to bore anyone unnecessarily.
03/29/2009 04:46:09 PM · #645
lol i cannot imagine you or your photos boring anyone at all... I will PM you my email addy.
03/29/2009 04:49:05 PM · #646
I'd be honored to give anything you might be considering a look-see, also, Deb.

E-Mail addy's on my profile page.

Not looking for hack & slash, just......is this an okay shot?

I took this for her mother and she just doesn't think it captures her.

I was kind of stunned 'cause I think it's pretty decent.

Opinions?

i thougth you said that was your mother lol. but yeh, i think its great. nice relaxed expression, hair looks good. might do a bit of processing to make up for the dull lighting.

I actually lightly desatted it 'cause I like how she looks understated.

I think she's really pretty, but in a soft, natural way.

ETA: Redo...

As others have said, stay safe, we care about you. :)

If you visit our Canadian area, stop for a coffee at Timmies and let them know that those of us back home are mighty proud of them!

Edited cause my spelling sucks!
