I'd give it a 3. Not abstract enough. |

Interesting colours, but not really abstract and am I missing the movement element?
I've entered a great photo with loads of movement, but it's not remotely abstract. |

the wording of the description actually doesn't specify the image should be abstract. it's also terribly worded.
i have yet to figure what 'abstract motion' is.

is that like doing the robot. or having a twitch. or being a mime. or what ?
ah - it's when the people around you can't figure out what the hell you're doing.

The challenge is called Abstract Motion. Do you think not repeating the word "abstract" in the description nullifies the abstract part of the theme? |

I'd agree, Pedro. Not abstract and no motion -- a double whammy! |

Well, partly also (for me) in that he said himself he didn't get any good shots. He also didn't enter the challenge, yet still wants to know how it would've done? There's a joke about that animal...something about crossing the road.
I just tossed a 3 out there for the heck of it. Might have actually given it more or less if I'd seen it in the challenge. Maybe I'll provide some additional feedback once this photo makes it to the outtakes thread after the challenge has finished voting. |

no, i think the wording of description augments the vagueness of the title.
can you tell me what abstract motion is ?
despite the fact the title of the challenge is just that - the description adds a new level of obscurity...
what i am saying is - the title has the word abstract in it - but the description doesn't specify your entry be an abstract image. it does, however, specify to use abstract motion to acheive your image...

how about this for clarity.

Not arguing, but your version might lead to the same amount of confusion from another side. How many people would ask "Some form of motion? From the camera or from the subject?" |

well that doesn't matter - as along as the result is abstract...
as listed - the description is cryptic.

Well, i thought it was abstract, no motion. I was trying to know what you think about this shot more generally but in the challenge too. Thank you for your points of view. I think my ideas aren't abstract enough yet, hehe!
And i think abstract motion means a abstract image, and by that i think of a image with any effect that may stump the viewer or at least make them say "woa, that's a weird and different thing". And by motion, anything that represents the idea of movement, or(obviously) going from a place to another.
I really would like to know what you think about abstract, because i may be wrong at my concepts.
Thank you again! |
