Hi everyone,
I currently have a fuji finepix 4700 in addition to my 35mm SLR and have noticed that when taking a picture with it, there seems to be a 1/2 or so delay between the time I press the button and the time that it takes the picture. I find this to be slighty annoying at times, and wonder if it is a common thing among digital 35mm cameras as well, as I would like to upgrade to one at somepoint to have a bit more flexability in terms of features etc.
thanks,
Woody |

Hi, I used to have the same camera, and I did quite well with it in a couple of shotshere. I never really noticed any lag, but then I never used a real SLR to compare it with. The only thing I noticed was that the AF took a while, but when I bought a G2 i realised that the AF on the 4700 was quite fast compared.

i think in most cases the higher end the camera, the lower the shutter lag is... and also on any given Dslr the lag is most likely minimal
i haven't really had any issues with it on my camera...
EDIT: i shoot 35mm film as well, and thats a tad faster, but nothing too substantial

My Olympus C-750 also lags a little. If you're using autofocus, the lag is a result of needing time to focus. On mine, depressing the shutter button half way will tell it to focus, and then the lag is about .1 seconds when you trip the shutter. |
