If you can see this, could make for some interesting photos.
Rec'd this note that's letting local businesses know (and not assume something else/bad is happening) what's going on.

For the filming of a TV pilot, there will be a simulated explosion on Wednesday, March 25 between 9:30 a.m. and noon near Key Bridge in the District. The explosion will produce a 20-to-30 foot fireball that will last for approximately two minutes.
The Department of Homeland Security and D.C. Police and Fire departments have been notified, along with the Washington Airports Authority. The Virginia State Patrol and Arlington Police Department is also being contacted.
The explosion will take place on the Potomac River just north of the Key Bridge and Jack's Boathouse (K / Water Street, NW under the Whitehurst Freeway). In the scene to be filmed, there will be six sculling boats on the Potomac River and one of them "blows up."
The filming is for "Washington Field," a television series being developed by CBS Paramount about the elite Washington field office of the FBI.

From what I understand it's for a tv special on extreme Geocaching.
I wish I still lived in the area and could go watch. They are filming a team attempting to retrieve a geocache on the top of a 80-90 foot tall bridge pylon (there's no longer a bridge connected to the pylon). I think they are also going to be filming the placement of a new geocache by the owners of the one mentioned above, but I'm not sure exactly about that one. |

That's funny -- there's a TV pilot filming near me this weekend (in New York City). There are signs around the neighborhood warning of a fake emergency action, including lots of police cars, firetrucks, etc....
