Amazon's deal of the day.

Thanks for the heads-up. I've wanted a solid tripod for awhile now. I would prefer to research more, but if this is a great deal I might want to grab it. Do you know of any reason this would not be a good purchase? A quick google search didn't bring up reviews. Anything I should watch out for?

I'm not familiar with Dolica, but the specs look good. It supports up to 17.6lbs, comes with two quick release plates, a bubble level, and a... compass? That's gotta be a step in the right direction.

Thanks. Well, they are selling like hotcakes. I put one in my shopping cart, but haven't ordered it yet. I searched a bit more on Google and at DPReview, the Dolica info is sketchy. I've found complaints about their cheaper tripods (i.e., they are cheap), but nothing on this model or series.

Not sure that wasn't the smarter deal. This is inexpensive and lightweight, but will it hold your camera rock-steady for long exposures?

Special deal expired. Current price now 149.99...

I'm showing the special deal is still available and only 76% claimed. Anyway, I went ahead and ordered it. I forget Amazon charges tax now!

heard this had been on sale, shame I missed it.. had it on my amazon.com wishlist, they should have emailed me or something.

I don't know if this is the best thing for me or not, recommendations would be helpful. I am thinking of grabbing it for $130+ now, link. It says it has some good weight bearing, but I just don't know... cheap is cheap. I have a D300, Bigma & SB-800 and my current tripod is too heavy, the ballhead slips and the legs of the tripod are just crap.. I need something lighter.. I dunno, recommendations anyone? Carbon Fiber + Ball Head for around $200 or under?
