I've looked through older posts and don't see any comments regarding this non-DG version (older version) of this lens. Anyone have experience with it? Pros, cons?
Looking at the Canon mount. |

Well...I hope it's decent because I now have one safely tucked into my camera bag. :)
I will be giving it a test run tonight at my daughter's vocal concert at school. I am hoping that for the uses I likely have for this lens, that lack of IS of any type won't be a real problem. |

Hi Judy.
I personally don't have any experience with the older version of this lens (have the newer one), but it's a very nice range to have at f2.8.
Your use of it in this auditorium photo is one of the reasons I purchased one. Always a low light situation with kids it seems. Looks good! |
