If you have, what was your experience like?

I used to rent a 70-200 2.8 IS lens until I could afford it & justify it business-wise. It was a great experience; made me fall in love with the lens, and definitely allowed me to get pics (and thereafter clients) that I wouldn't otherwise have.

Would depend on the price, residual and resale potential like all leasing arrangements.... I cannot see how it would make sense for th pro line of lenses for Canon or Nikon as the resale is close to retail and the retail is increasing at regular intervals.
