The US Geological Survey, NASA, and the Library of Congress have mounted a new exhibit of artistic photos of Planet Earth, taken by the Landsat-7 satellite between 1999 and the present. You can order poster-sized prints for only $30. You can see the images at the Library of Congress until July 23, 2003, and you can view them online at //astroboy.gsfc.nasa.gov/earthasart/.
Wow, I just checked and they also offer downloadable high-res TIFF files (these are public domain photos) for printing or other artistic use! |

The NASA site does appear to be down at the moment; try again later.
In the meantime, try the Library of Congress site: //www.loc.gov/exhibits/earthasart/ |

NASA's servers should be way overloaded tomorrow if either of the Martian rovers is able to land successfully. In the meantime, I just heard the probe out to collect comet dust came within 143 miles ... it should be back in a couple of years with some samples. |

NASA's Earth Observatory site seems to be up but slow. It concentrates on images of Earth taken from various satellites and astronuats aboard the Space Shuttle (check out the recently posted photo of Mt. Everest). |
