I got a 6+ score in a Free Study! (albeit barely). I'm so HAPPY. lol.

Sadly, I missed another placing ending with a 1 by one place. In Puzzled it was 22nd instead of 21st. In the Free Study it's 100th instead of 101st. CURSES!

Walks off to try and find a way to get someone above him in Puzzled DQ'd.

I think I have narrowed down my hidden gem, and processed it a few different way. Now I am stuck for a title, I suck at titles. This is definitely not a DPC friendly image, but brings back a rush of happiness when I look at it. What a wonderful walk down memory lane this entire process has been.

I promised myself that I would spend today looking for a 1000th challenge entry, but now that it comes to it, the daunting task of hooking up to my external drive and poring through 12 DVDs worth of archives makes me one lazy sumbeeyatch.

I find that I just don't want to do it anymore.

Hrmph.

Yea--I am torn between trying to go back thru a bunch, or just enter another one that would be a more current free study entry. If it gets to be a drain or too time consuming I will go with the current shot option.

I don't have any current shots either. Still going through end-of-winter photographic hell. I'm supposed to be doing the selective desat side challenge, but haven't taken a single photograph this month.

I have one I'd love to enter but it's had a lot of recent visibility. The looking through old shots thing is kinda fun, though. Sadly, I keep looking with DPC in mind - need to quit that kind of thinking!

I'll say! You're supposed to be my partner in The Dreamâ„¢

Ah, so if we're partners, you must enter! :-)

ACK. Shoot. Caught on a technicality.

Goes off to hook up the external.

I went to the aquarium with my new flash today. All I can say, I wish I'd bought one sooner! What a difference. I don't actually know what I'm doing yet, but was able to get some impressive results. Things that I was never able to get in focus are now in focus. I just pointed it every which way (swivels up in increments, and swivels side to side too) until I got what I wanted. There were still some areas that it just didn't work out in (like the shark tunnel which is all very thick curved glass) but I certainly got a lot more keepers today then ever.

I've been delayed by the decision to transfer all my DVD archives to the external, and now I wish I had a speedier external DVD drive too! Ack. The one on my laptop is heating up too fast, and I have to let it cool down between transfers.

Why do I do this to myself?

The place is very dark.

As long as you don't hit children with your tripod you're fine.

Very, very dark! LOL! There's so much flash going off in there, reflections everywhere. The built in camera flash never works there though, because of all the glass.

Just got home from spending most of the weekend with new bf and his son, had a good time, esp as I got some really cool shots at son's 12th birthday party.

But the real icing on the cake was waiting on my answering machine at home. One of my horse clients also breeds Standard poodles and has been trying to sell a couple of puppies (both now almost full-grown so no longer have the built-in cutesy-poo factor on their side).

Awhile ago I had my camera with me when I stopped by for a visit and had the Nikon in tow. I managed to get some half-decent shots of the puppies. These pics were posted on Kijiji and my friend was able to sell one of the pups quite quickly.

Anyway, apparently she just managed to sell the second one...and it was on the fact that the 9-yr-old son liked the shot I took of him (the second puppy) that helped seal the deal! :-)

Way to go Susan, it's nice when things work out like that :)

MAX!
