Since the 1000th is such a special challenge and potentially with a longer voting period (see other thread about that)... I suggest that all H2H challengers agree to exempt this challenge from the H2H so that everyone can take part without worry.
Suggestion made, I will back out now. :) |
Suggestion noted and not agreed with. ;) |

Are you in light on white or in the self portrait? I am in light on white. |
I would have to respectfully disagree. My second point was just won at rollover last nite. Therefor our challenge would be starting with the challenges that are announced AFTER that H to H was over. That would make the first challenge for our H to H the Hidden Gem challenge. :) (I am not in light on white anyways) |
Im just not understanding how someone like me had to wait while other partners decided whether or not they were going to enter certain challenges in the competition before I could finally move on in round 3. They had a choice to enter or not.
I waited and never knew when the next challenge would finally be mine because I never knew which ones you guys were deciding to enter or not (you and jasonlprice). Then it didnt get updated which confused me more. Now it looks like I am finally getting my chance to continue on in the next round yet now I will have no choice of my own and be forced to enter Gem? I dont think that is very fair to me or to the other noobies out there in the DPCO and the H2H. We should have a choice between two opens and a member challenge. Not just the only challenge available or some special event challenge like this.
Maybe I wont be forced to. I am still waiting to find out from SoulMan1978 if I can stay out of Gem and not have it count for us this round. Respectfully given the circumstances I may have to do that and forfeit even the DPCO just to not have my chances taken from me in this way for the H2H which I strongly believe they will be.
Im not totally out. I am trying to set up something to take this weekend that will be worth staying in for both competitions of the Olympics and the H2H but if it doesnt happen I will not be in Gem but I need more details from SoulMan1978 first tho and have sent him a pm.

Let me get this right...you do not understand how someone like yourself had to wait, because myself and Jason were having our H to H which of course we had until next week to finish? (look at the spreadsheet)
Yet at the same time you feel that the Gem challenge should be excluded, simply because you do not like it? I am very sorry but that makes no sense at all.
When we all signed up for this H to H, we knew that Soulman was going to assign the time frames for each H to H, and that any challenge within that time frame is fair game. It is just not right to now think that anyone can simply say "this should not count". Maybe I will not like the challenges in the following week and say "I don't have any interesting trees because I live up north where there are no leaves right now, so I don't think it should be included because I do not have the same chance as someone in the south where the trees are nice and alive instead of dead and brown". Would that be ok too? |

Last time I checked. Hawkeye was not running this H to H. It is not his place to drop in here and suggest things when it has nothing at all to do with him. Shouldn't he be busy scoring any nudity in the skin challenge a 1, instead of sticking his nose in here? |

Actually it's ANYBODY'S place to make a suggestion. If you note the times, I suggested it here prior to making the decision for DPCO-IV-A. It made perfect sense.
Yeow you need to untie your boxers. |

Hold on. Lets not get all uptight. When we all signed up for the H2H we were all told it would be member and opens that would be the challenges. Each and every week partners had choices to enter neither or one or the other.
This week it is different is what I am saying. Its not that I dont like it (altho I dont) but that is not the point. The point is that there are no choices to make like in the previous rounds. So to me it would be a sorry shame if I had to enter a challenge with maybe 700 other members or more and get a 4.0 on my average which is probably going to be a "good" score for most entries with so many entering. If there was no h2h or Dpco I would not be in this challenge for that same reason (even if a 5.5 wins a ribbon). Even if I could pull off a great picture I wouldnt enter under normal circumstance but this is not a normal circumstance and side challenges I understand are really are own choice to be in or not.
So I am working and have been all afternoon to try to get something together for Gem. I am not just sitting back and complaining but I do think I have a valid point here and I do think it sucks. hahhaha.

actually, when i signed up for the h2h, it was with the understanding of regularly scheduled challenges and anything else that may come that way.
for crying out loud, how hard is it? enter or don't. it is not the end of the world. |

Suffices to say that I don't think HawkeyeLonewolf is endearing himself to to many people here with his bombastic personality and staunch views towards certain types of photography.
It's sad that someone needs that much drama and conflict in their lives in order to exist. Yes we all have our opinions and we are entitled to them but to continually try to force them on others is wrong and hopefully one day the light will come on and he will see that you don't always have to be right in order to get along with others in the world.
We will always find things in our lives that we don't agree with and if we continue to jump up and down and yell and scream at others every time we come across them, eventually no one will listen and that is truly a sad existence.
Just my $0.02 worth.

How am I bombastic? Not at all. I have never ONCE, not ONCE tried to force my opinions on anyone else here. I have rightly defended my right to have my own opinion -- though folks like you seem to want to not allow that.
In that other thread, I simply stated MY opinion... and then someone misunderstood something I said and no matter how clear what I said was, it snowballed into a semantics argument.
In this thread, I made a simply SUGGESTION and clearly did so expecting it would be taken as just that, a suggestion. No orders, no forcing, no nothing evil as you want to put it. Certainly nothing bombastic.
Yes, I will stand my ground when I feel I'm right. Just because someone has a differing opinion doesn't make me wrong.
Thanks for butting in and having no idea what you're talking about. |

All I want to know is if I dont enter how that effects the outcome of our round 3. I cant seem to get that answer. hahah. I guess I made a sad mistake saying why I dont want to enter but other then that if I dont enter it and round 3 being to-the-death now then how does that effect our round? Does that mean that my partner will automatically get a point? Does that mean his hard work wont count at all? Does that mean we both have to just wait for the next challenge announcements? What?

How am I bombastic? (ostentatiously lofty in style; "a man given to large talk"; "he lectured bombastically about his theories") Not at all. I have never ONCE, not ONCE tried to force my opinions on anyone else here. I have rightly defended my right to have my own opinion -- though folks like you seem to want to not allow that. (I stated above that we are all allowed to our opinions, that would include you too.)

Certainly nothing bombastic.
Yes, I will stand my ground when I feel I'm right. Just because someone has a differing opinion doesn't make me wrong. ( it doesn't make you right either, they could feel as strongly as you do but to the contrary, you should look for middle ground here)

Hi Agnes. If you do not enter, there is no effect whatsoever on our H to H. The only time a point is earned is if both people enter the challenge. That is why I am not able to grasp why you and others so firmly are against have the Gem challenge count. If you do not like it, don't enter it. Just like Karmat said. |
