hello all,
I just bought the 450d from the shop. But with out any lens. Because i want to bought a better than the kit (EF-S 18-55 IS).

I've interested to the tamron SP AF 28-75 XR Di LD, to be my 450d's partner.

The question are:
1. is it an avarage, good, best, or worst for my 450d?

2. is there any major or minor problem(s) when 450d using this lens?

I'm asking for any help so that i can bought a right partner for my 450d. Especialy for this tamron lens.

thanks.

The Tammy 28-75mm is an excellent lens and will work wonderfully with your 450D. The only "problem" is it's not very wide on the wide end. The 18-55mm you didn't get is a better all-around range for an "only lens".

so it's not very wide opening.

How about the AF respond and the sharpness? I know that this lens are SP class from tamron. But as you know that, it,
's third party lens.

Btw, thanks

Seems like this is all new to you? If you have friends with Canon cameras, it might be worth trying out some of their lenses to get a feel for what is what before spending $$$.

Some people will say that lens is tack sharp and a great buy, others will say avoid 3rd party based on their experience, others still will say buy cheap buy twice and just save up for better quality glass. Endless opinions, but all fall short of putting the lens on your camera and trying it out.

It's not about "wide opening", opening = aperture and f/2.8 is a wide enough aperture for sure. It's about wide *angle*, and it isn't one.

As for the discussion of this lens as a "3rd party" lens, just re-read the other thread you've also asked your question in, as this was discussed at length there, including by me.

Speaking from experience. I had the tamron 17-50 and it is an excellent lens in all aspects. The only problem I had with it was the focusing wasn't fast enough for me. And it was loud compared to USM or HSM modes. It was a great walk around lens, super sharp and durable. I have since switched to "L" lens and let me tell ya it is fantastic.I will never buy 3rd party lenses again! The quality is soo much better. The focusing , the sharper pics and thefact that they hold their value if you ever decide to switch to a different focal length made this an easy desicion for me. I was always skeptical about noticing the difference with my Rebel, but not anymore! I have even held off upgrading my body to see how I can make this puppy perform.

So my suggestion to you is, If you can wait and save some money shop around and buy a used L lens and you will never have to worry about it again.
