...who waits until the submission is due, then plans/shoots/edits/submits each entry at the last possible minute every stinkin time then hates what they submitted all week long? Every week I tell myself I won't do this next time, but I will. ARRGGGGGG.

For every challenge except the monthly FS, I do the same.

Preumably you have thought about your next entry and you're shooting it tomorrow, working it sunday and submitting it monday, before relaxing and loving for the whole of the following week?

Sometimes. It depends on when I have the time and when an idea I like comes to me. I've had both high scoring entries and my brownie that were started about an hour before rollover.

Personally, I shoot the first day of the challenge, submit, don't think about it again and then wish I had taken more time on the challenge. I rush it as well just in the beginning of the week.

When the weather and light cooperate, I'll try to shoot for a specific challenge well before the deadline. My best scoring images are usually a third or fourth generation revision. While I may really like the original capture, my "cost of acquisition" enthusiasm usually keeps me from polishing the presentation to the degree needed. Takes a couple days to get it right. We are all blind to the flaws in our own images. Also, when I shoot during the day and process at night, the ambient light at night (brightness and temp. K) sometimes causes me to make ill-advised processing choices. Always better to see an image in daylight and nightlight. If I have a very good image, I will also take time to view it on a variety of monitors to see how it will be viewed by the average voter. Finally, for a few challenges, I'll run a couple images past cruel and heartless relatives and friends (not DPC members) to gauge the caliber of the image and narrow down the submission choices, if I can't decide.

submission minutes before deadline: 90%
(missing the deadline by seconds: 10%)
edit hours before deadline: 75%
planning/shooting hours before deadline: 30%

regretting the shot: rather not say
resolve not to repeat: given up

feeling alone in last minutitis: 100%

It depends. If I have my idea and can shoot it first then its first. If I have to wait for things like weather or models etc then its late.

For instance my light on white will be really late. I wont be shooting it till Sunday and will probably submit to it a few hours before deadline. My Skin should be in on the same day tho and about 3 days early so it just depends on a lot of things.

I try never to wait until the last minute if I can help it tho.

see, here I go again. Just finished light on white, so I guess this was early for me. Commence the week of regret!

Yep, just submitted, and yep, very early for me.

That's standard operating procedure for me.

Me too, but hey - I still have an hour to re-edit...
