In the last couple of weeks I've noticed that my camera pauses to write every image. I get the "buff" message in the viewfinder after every shot. It means that I have to wait about a second before shooting the next pic.
I've tried reformatting the memory cards and it's still doing it.
Do I need to service the camera? Is there a firmware upgrade that might address the issue.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers,

| I have not run into this problem....perhaps it is your memory card? I am using class 6 cards now, and they are very fast. |

| I'm using cards that I've had for some time. I've never had trouble with them before. I wonder if their performance is affected by age. |

Solid state memory has a maximum number of read and write cycles, however I'd be surprised if that was the problem.
On my E-510 I have two options in-camera. One is To erase all images, the other is to format, have you tried formatting from the camera menus? |

I've formatted all my cards. I've got a big shoot tomorrow and I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for the suggestion. |

It still paused to buffer every image. On top of that, I now have a flaw in every image which is a strip, one pixel wide, which cuts 2/3 of the way across the photo.
Very frustrating. |
