Help! Problem with my Oly E500 - DPChallenge Forums

In the last couple of weeks I've noticed that my camera pauses to write every image. I get the "buff" message in the viewfinder after every shot. It means that I have to wait about a second before shooting the next pic.

I've tried reformatting the memory cards and it's still doing it.

Do I need to service the camera? Is there a firmware upgrade that might address the issue.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I have not run into this problem....perhaps it is your memory card? I am using class 6 cards now, and they are very fast.

I'm using cards that I've had for some time. I've never had trouble with them before. I wonder if their performance is affected by age.

Solid state memory has a maximum number of read and write cycles, however I'd be surprised if that was the problem.

On my E-510 I have two options in-camera. One is To erase all images, the other is to format, have you tried formatting from the camera menus?

My 500 has not had this problem either.
