I just wanted to give this company a big shout of respect.
I have always wanted to take my lighting rig out on location I tried many genial ideas that all ended in disaster until this one.
I have 2 400W Elinchrom strobes and another 150W Gel light/strobe I have looked at power packs but they carry a HUGE price tag (around £700)for something with enough power to run these baby's for a few hours at a time, something I could never afford.
After a lot of study about waves inverters and the likes I stumbbled upon a great Puresine generator called Kipor IG2000 that gives out a constant 1280W of puresine power for a price of £300 delivered to my door.
I took a chance with buying this device as it was not certain if it could handle the recycle surge.. well it handles BOTH 400W Eli's and they recycle on FULL power in 0.7 secs the generator revs a bit to adapt to the extra BOSH!
The big test for this set up is next week but I have had all my lights running from this generator and all seems well, it is a good size (22KG, small suitcase size) it is very quiet, has a 4-stroke engine and seems to be of very good build quality.
If you are looking for something similar then please give the Kipor a look at, I'm still gobsmacked at it's power and price.

Finally got a good oppertunity to test this unit Fully.
The generator performed flawlessly throughout the 4 hour shoot powering my 2 400W strobes and also being used to power modelling lamps, battery chargers, laptop and a hair dryer. (not all at the same time)
Seriously, if you are poor like me but want to get your lights on the street, this is a fabulous option with very little limitation. The battery packs I was going to buy would give me 100 shots with both lights, this generator on a tank of gas run us over 500 and still has half a tank of gas (capacity 2 ltr)
