35mm Samples

The pictures are kinda crappy, but they let you see what the lens is capable of. It looks pretty sharp, even wide open at f/1.8. I'll definitely be getting one of these!

I still prefer my sigma 30mm f1.4.

If the Nikon was a full frame lens that would be a complete new situation.

I agree with Nuno and even want to go a step further. If these samples are anything to go by, the Sigma 30 1.4 beats the crap out of the Nikkor. I am not impressed by its "sharpness". The micro-contrast is far from spectacular etc.

But, you get exactly what you pay for.

I see there's just too much hate for the new Nikon lens :(
like with every other lens that they seem to come out with lately.

So far the sharpness is better than my 35mm f/2 (a lot better)

Maybe you travel different channels, but I hear no hate at all for the 24-70 f/2.8 and the 14-24 f/2.8, which are two of the most recent lens releases...

I don't give it a chance because I think DX primes are a waste of time.

I think it can be used on the D3 at 5:4 crop mode with very little vignette.
