So where would you take your stuff? To Assurants place? I think most likely it will be difficult at best to get a warranty to be honored.

Like I said, I worked for CC and they dishonored those contracts all of the time. I don't see why now that they are closing they would actually make good on anything.

A lot of Olympic and Panasonic P&S models, and quite a few Olympic and Sony DSLRs. Oh, and they had an old Canon 20D display model that they were asking $900 for - they must be insane.

It must be a Pennsylvania thing......the CCs around here are offering.......10% OFF!!!!!!

I visited my local CC Friday. Almost every camera related items were sold out except the point and shot cameras. The did have have a Sony alpha and some Nikon lens. All CF cards were gone. But the discounts were from 20% to 30% on all items. I was looking for another external HD but didn't see any. One thing I did find interesting is the fact there was one man (not dressed in CC clothing) asking people what they were looking for. He asked me and when I told him he looked throughout the store and told me he did see any. But what he said next surprised me. He told me some employees have been caught hiding items till they drop even lower and he would go to the back and see if he could find a HD. When he returned he said he could find one. But he told me if there was anything I or anyone was looking for and didn't see to ask him.

I don't know who he was unless he was the person over the liquidation of merchandise at that store. Every CC may have a person like that so if you don't see what your looking for you may want to look for a man/woman in regular clothing that is asking customers if there finding everything ok.

I was driving by one today and I wanted to see what was up. They had a Nikkor 55-200 for $249 and then 30% off. It was trashed and open with no cap. Not that great of a deal really.

Halo 3 at 40% was still $3 more than I could get it for at Amazon.com. Most of the store had been gutted. I didn't see any deals however.

Everything here is minimum 40% off now, I think. I was hoping the single SB-600 was going to hang around but somebody yanked it up after a 30% discount from their standard price. This was cheap, but not spur of the moment snatch it up cheap, for me anyway. Now the place looks like it's been ravaged, although I might go back and see if there are still any Creative Labs computer speakers hanging around... Last I was there, they still had at least 7 or 8 of the 55-200 and several of the 18-135 I think they were...
Just know your prices before you enter.

Take your cell phone with Inet. Then you can just google the prices while you shop.

Think twice, no three times about that... the last two Creative Labs products I've had (both computer speakers) have died an early death for such stupid stuff as the reliability of the interconnections. And these are speakers that were rarely moved or disturbed. My day job is electronics reliability, and my assessment is that they produce *junk*.
Creative is also a bad actor in the sound card world, where they nicely decided to cripple some of their products under Vista. I gave away the pretty nice sounding Creative Audigy card I had, and may eventually buy something from a better quality supplier; right now I'm living with the on-board audio on my MOBO, which is not really that bad at all.
