Just heard that a continental express jet crashed into a house in the town of Clarence. 49 people were on board. Check out CNN for updates...I know some DPC'ers live in Buffalo, hope all is well.

| Yes it is sad. Sad for those on the plane, their families, & friends. Hopefully the people who live in the home were not there. |

According to a news report I heard at 0400hrs this morning, there was one person in the house at the time of impact and that person also died.

They crash for the same reasons that cars do. |

| I grew up about 4 miles from the site of that crash, and my parents still live there (my brother lives about 4 or 5 miles from that site, as well). I rode my bike past that street MANY times as a teenager. Now I'm waiting for the list of people on that plane, and hoping the names aren't too familiar. However, the news reported that most of the passangers had Western New York addresses, so I wouldn't be surprised if a name or two rings a bell (maybe not the victim themselves, but a family member of a victim). At this point, all we can do is pray. |

Prayers to the Almighty God are with the families of the victims and wounded and the responders... sad day without a doubt. |

Western New York is a true town of 6 degrees of separation, as the flight manifest is released, I am too am saddened. |
