I took this Picture.

with a Canon A590IS Mounted to a Gigapan Epic.

Click Here to see 170MP Zoomable Version

50 frames 10 across 5 down stitched together. I saved the full size version to a Tiff which is 22299x7272 and a whopping 259MB 463MB, bitmap is 259MB, jpeg 82MB, I reckon the size limit for a quality print could be HUGE!

eta: I forgot to set the white balance so it has a bit of a blue cast to it, It was a grey afternoon.

I just delivered two images to the printer yesterday for application to canvas.

One is a 370 MB TIFF file, the other is a 366 MB TIFF>

Both of these files are from one image each.

That's really good for having just gotten the thing (GigaPan)!

Does the river bend like that in the foreground or is that an "artifact" of a short focal length? I have a 180° pano which shows a bend even more severe that, even though the walkway is straight -- the stitching software seems to have to distort the foreground in order to match up the further features.

It is surprisingly easy to use. It is more work to get the camera set up than it is to get the Gigapan ready to roll. Push a couple of buttons and kick back and watch it work.
