Day 4 in screening for me. I'm trying to take it as a good sign.
So far 1/10 accepted.
You can't beat the views. Over 10,000 unique views on my first pic after 3 weeks.

I'm so glad they took my 'Ode to Deb'. They thought of being forced to post it in Deb's reject thread was making me nauseous. ;)
I do like the way pics show on a black BG. I'd love it if we could select either black, white, or grey BG for our images at DPC... |

Holy Moly! Don't look now but 5 of the 10 latest edition are....colorful!
I'd better make full use of my 2 slots while the window is open. The problem is, I think one more rejection and I'm down to 1 slot a week. Better make it count. |

Just remember...multi-ribbon winners are not allowed to pout, but if you do...think "pouty self-portrait" and you'll be a shoe-in...;-)

I thought I gave you a nod earlier, Oliver, but I probably didn't post the linkie. Sorry about that! And Alex has had a couple go through that I saw - after all his complaining. :-)
This thread can be used for published shots, too, but as links instead of thumbs, since they look kinda good large and on black at 1x. :-) |

It's funny but since it's not my strength I would have never thought to enter something like that of my own. Hmmmm...
That's a pretty straight shot but do you think it might have a chance if I gave it some more mystery in PP? Also worth mentioning it was my first attempt and tribute to Ursula.
My info page says I have 5 Upload slots, Free slots -1. Not sure what that means.
Since I can't upload any more images this week what does the 5 get me?

The 5 just lets you know what level you are at. I'll post the levels here so I don't have to keep looking in the FAQ over there to find it.
0% 1 upload slot (after 3 pictures screened)
1% - 20% 2 upload slots (after 3 pictures screened)
21% - 40% 3 upload slots (after 3 pictures screened)
41% - 70% 5 upload slots (after 3 pictures screened)
71% - 89% 7 upload slots (after 3 pictures screened)
90% - 100% 10 upload slots (after 3 pictures screened) |

Trust me, that's not my strength either. :-) I submitted two this week - that one and the one that got rejected I posted earlier. If I'd been a betting woman, I would have guessed both would be rejected, but the one with the better chance was the tourist shot. Shows what I know! |

I think if you buy a membership you get more upload slots, too. But even if you have more upload slots, you can only use them once in a week's time. That includes if you get published as well. So if you have three slots a week, you submit three, two get rejected, one gets published, you have 0 slots remaining for the week. It's probably a good way to keep the stream of inputs to a manageable level. |
