| Last night I went to Circuit City (they are closing the store so make sure product is right and have information information) to check something and I saw 50D with kit lens for $1049 that less then the body price it-self. Check it out if anyone looking for an upgrade. |

Got it! They charged me $1119 (and no box), but it's in perfect condition. Thanks for the heads up. :-D
Also scored a Canon 100mm Macro for $272. Now I just have to decide whether to sell the 40D or the 50D...

Sigh. My nearest Circuit City is an ocean away.... No more website, either.

Nope, $272. It was the store display, with no caps (I think I have spares), but there were no marks on the barrel or glass. I checked it out on one of the store cameras to make sure it worked, but then got it home and realized the manual focus ring is balky. Autofocus is OK, but I might have to send it in. Doh! |

I bought my son's 50D with the 28-135 kit lens at Circuit City as part of their going-out-of-business sale... but it cost me more than $1049. :( :(
And the $272 price for the 100mm macro hurts to. Mine only cost a little bit more but it STILL hasn't arrived yet. :( |

I stopped in my local CC today - the camera selection was decimated. Of the units that were left, the deals weren't very good at all. But there were almost no Canon's of any sort remaining, so I guess someone figured that the prices were right.

I really wish I could find this combo here in Canada. Here you either get the 40 with the 28-135 or the 50 with the 17-85. If I could find the 50 with the 28-135 I would pick it up in a heartbeat.

| I just checked at my local CC: they did have a display unit D80 with 18-135 kit zoom for $629. And they had several Nikon 55-200 VR for about $150. Okay prices, but not great. The dslr section was toast--one Canon left, one Nikon, 3 Sony's. Better selection of point/shoot and video cameras left. Seems like here the general discount in the store is now 30% (compared to 10% 2-3 wks ago). |

The 70-300 models I saw were NOT the IS version (and therefore not great deals). I'll probably go back later this week to look at camera bags. At 30% off, some of the Tamrac and Lowepro bags are already starting to looking interesting, and there are plenty left. |

I just picked up the 50D at circuit city myself :-)
I was originally going to upgrade to the 40D, but with the prices at circuit city i went for the 50
!!!!!! yay!! |

I am using 50D and upgraded from 20D and I am happy with the results. I also got original unopened Photoshop CS3 for $80 on craigslist and applied Camera Raw 4.6 version so it is working fine with my 50D files too! |

| Picked up a Spanking new 5D at circuit city for $1465. Can't decide to keep it or sell it. I went to three stores and they were decimated. The one store had a guy from a local game store come in and buy all the PS3's, DS's and Xbox 360's at 30% off just so he can resell them and make a profit. |
