I hope I don't make a new thread on something old. I tried to find it, but had no luck.
Anyone that has any experiences about putting a 14-24mm f/2.8 or 24-70mm f/2.8 lens on a cropped sensor like the D300 have? DX lenses on a fullframe camera was kinda bad, but how does it work the other way around?

they work fine

Just to clarify, by this, he means the FOV of the lens is smaller by 66%, meaning the FOV of the lens is 1.5 times the FOV of the D300, so you get a full view from the D300. Didn't want the OP to get the wrong idea. Also, by using an FX lens on a DX body, corner softness and distortion aren't as big of a deal because the edges of the FOV from the lens are "cut off." |

I have the 14-24 and the older 28-70, both work fine on the DX sensor but I bought that glass knowing one day I would go full frame. I'm not so sure with the move to FF DX glass is a good idea if you ever plan to upgrade.

| Thank you for the good answers. I was dying to know! I'll go fullframe when my current camera tells me to f'off, which won't be anytime soon. But one might never know... You walk around a corner and someone gives you a D3. |
