... Christian Bale Remix!
02/04/2009 11:24:40 AM · #2
After this video, I looked up what it was about, I can guarantee nobody from this family will support any movie this actor is involved!

I think if you only knew what goes on behind the scenes of movie sets you would probably boycott 80% of films made.
This one just happened to get recored and leaked out to the public. I do enjoy the creativity of the person who put this to music.

Probably worth reading this before boycotting anyone

I recently stumbled across a stage during rehearsels for a musical. I needed to get to the other side. DOP had to fix some lighting or something like that. I ran across the stage and interupted the rehearsels. He walzed in and did his thing. I got yelled at. He got verbaly killed. I COULD go under the stage. He COULD let someone know so they could cut the scene or something instead of just interupting it like that, which I find very unprofesional. But, Bale clearly overreacted a itsybitstytiny bit.

Thanks for the link; shows again there are two sides to every story.

Gee the guy had the hide to move a light while the scene was on... Lets string him over the nearest tree hey.... Amazing....

just like with any other job - there are rules.

it doesn't sound like the fact the guy went to move a light was the issue - the issue, it seems, was breaking the actors concentration. and apparently that is a no no. it also seems it wasn't the first time the same type thing had occured.

did he flip out - yes

was it uncalled for - maybe not

was it a bit over the top - maybe

The tirade was played at my office this morning for everyone to hear. The remix song followed. Eh.

The articles I read mentioned that the DP later went on record saying that Bale is a nice guy, that the outbreak was unusual for him, and that he (the DP) still supports Bale.

If I would have known how far the âactorâ needed to delve into his very soul to mach the awesome performance by his predecessor in previous Terminators, I will apologize for any ill feelings I have had, and must repent by purchasing 47 1/2 tickets to what must be a academy award winning performance.

Christian Bale is one of his generation's best actors (IMO at least). It appears he's also immature and/or arrogant. I haven't heard the tirade, but I've read about it. It won't stop me from enjoying his movies (The Machinist anybody?), but I'm not inviting him over for dinner any time soon. ;)

No, I am going to say that for the most part all actors have a more professional demeanor about them.

And another thing, the actor yelling at the Director of Photography really isn't a good idea. They are the ones that are looking out for the best shot, best lighting to compliment the scene an that actor. It is very easy to show those blemishes with light, no matter how much make up is applied.

There are some actors that are known ass wholes, but, for the most part, there is a mutual respect between crew and thespian.

After all, it's the crew that sweats and bleeds for the production, the actor just has to get out of their air conditioned trailer and get paid pretending and memorization.
