I measured the stats of the scoring using a very complicated calculus formula and adjusted it for the skill level of each fan at the game and I came up with a score of 27-23 so my conclusion is that the Steelers outplayed the Cardinals when it really counted. :D

All the Cardinals had to do was stop the Steelers from going 88 yards in less than 3 minutes to seal the win. It didn't happen. The Steelers were the better team in the end.

You guys should try to walk through the parking lot at soldier field wearing packer colors once it can be like a war zone. Normally Chicago is a pretty friendly town. But not when it comes to Bear vs Packer. I believe it is a neighbor thing. The closest teams tend to be the biggest rivals, The fans love the game and their teams logo and home fields. Funny thing is if we are all wearing regular clothes everyone gets along pretty good.

Yes, because who needs play-by-play stats to evaluate how well a team played! Adjust for non-game things like fans! As long as the result is right, and your model can't predict anything, who cares!

All the refs had to do was call the illegal block in the back on Harrison's TD run, and it'd be a very different game. It didn't happen.

and maybe call Warner's fumble a fumble instead of a incomplete pass.

I thought they got that call wrong both times, The first time should have been a fumble the second time should have been a forward pass, although it was a goofy looking pass he was still holding the ball when his arm was moving forward. Oh Well. Hopefully the NFL will get smart someday and hire full time officials and make better use of all the technology that is at hand. Electronic Sensors have many potential places in the NFL but they continue to believe in the Old Zebras.

ETA: everyone should have known that the offical calling was going to be bad when the got it wrong on the first TD of the game. It was close but the goal line official should have had an awesome view and got the call wrong.

I agree that the first warner fumble was a fumble and the second was a pass - the officials got two wrong calls there.
As for completely missed calls - there were a lot on both sides.

Officiating hasn't been good and isn't getting better. They may spend more time reviewing, giving coaches challenges, etc bit it's not helping as the two pass/fumble calls show. Or at least, not helping a lot of the time.

It was mentioned on the radio here in the postgame show that at the stadium during the game they didn't show replays on the big screen - theory was not to upset fans or cause a ruckous, but the radio guy says if he's have paid $800+ for a ticket he's like to see the replays like the folks at home got to see.

Here's a rules question for anybody that might know the answer:

Can a defender run down the sidelines (out of bounds) and then come back in to make a tackle?

If you watch the replay of Harrison's interception runback, Fitzgerald goes out of bounds and runs down the sideline for about 35 yards avoiding blockers and then comes back in to make the tackle at the end. Is that legal?

Yes, the rules for coming back in bounds is that the out of bounds player cannot be the first to touch the ball (catch, interception, etc).

I think they are supposed to "re-establish" themselves inbounds before making a tackle, and they are supposed to do so as soon as possible. But likewise, any blockers can't shield the sideline and prevent such re-entry. I still think the block in the back was the most obvious violation on the play, but even offsetting penalties would have negated the score.

GOOOOOooooo!! Steelers!!!! This is the only Football game I say in about a year.
I̢۪ve always been a Steelers fan and a Penguins Ice Hockey fan even earlier.
My wife̢۪s from PA and her cousins and other relatives relocated to Cleveland from PA.

That #10 had a bullet-speed pass right through his hands in the Left endzone. He did not give up!!!

He went right back and got the winning pass in the Right endzone. Nice goal by a Defensemen, too. And that Long run earlier. The Cardinals had opportunities and at one point I almost thought they were going to win it.

But the Steelers did not give up, they came back and won!
