I'm doing some research for the law firm I work at as an IT technician for remote assistance when I am not at the office.

I'm just looking for something that is entirely web based where I go to a URL from school/home, login and such, give the person at work the codes yada yada, and then I can access their desktop to help them out. I'm using my MacBook Pro with Leopard 10.5.6 and such...

Is there any that's quick and dirty, and relatively inexpensive solution?

//www.showmypc.com/

You go to the site, get and run the little bit o' software. You tell other guy to go to the site and get and run the little bit o' software. He gives you the code, you type it in and you're on his machine. I have no idea whether it's compatible with Macs or not. It's basically a version of VNC, by the way.

Well, looks like I need to install my virtualbox xp pro license that I have been putting off, but remote access to help is well worth it, unless someone knows a Mac compatible version of the sorts...

I've been using Logmein for about a year now. Great program.
Page says it works with Mac.

I agree, logmein is a good one too. A bit more set up required, so less of a one-off solution, but good nonetheless.

Not totally web based...but already on your puter (and they don't need a program)
try looking on your Mac for Screen Sharing program...what I use
Go to your OS drive/System/Core Services/Screen Sharing
drag it to the Dock so you have easy access
Just need IP address of other computer then have them allow Remote Management on Apple (or Remote Login, or Allow Screen Sharing), or whatever there is on Windoze
