Alright, I know that Pocket wizards are the industry standard, but anyone have any experience with the alienbee cybersyncs with their nikon flashes? For those of us whom cant really afford the PWs, is it worth saving up another year or two for those, or to grab a set of the alienbees? Anyone have some experience with these that they can share?

I'm waiting for Alien Bees to release their new Cyber Commander. It'll be the gotta-have-it setup for AlienBees lights.

I have the Cybersyncs, and bought them over the PW for a couple of reasons........one being $$$. The other being AB's customer service. I have three of the battery powered receivers, to transmitters and I use them on my AB strobes, and on my Canon and Nikon flashes. I have zero, and I repeat zero issues with them. Battery life is amazing, range is amazing, and I have had perhaps 3 misfires on one of my receivers, and since I changed the batteries it hasnt happened again. I dont like the fact that I can turn them on, but not off, and the placement of the switch sometimes makes them come on when you dont want them to. However thats truly the only drawback I have found. They also come with the cables required to hook to your strobe, or your hotshoe if you are using Canon or Nikon flashes with the pc sync connection.

I just bought some cybersyncs for my Nikon strobes. Right out of the box, they will work with the Nikon SB-800 and SB-900. If you have SB-600's you will need to buy a hotshoe cord from FlashZebra.com to connect the cycbersync receivers.

They work very well so far. I highly recommend them.

Just call me a Cybersync pimp. Buy them, they work. Even with those Nikon strobes of yours. ;)

I went Cybers (plus models cause IMO the commander & future growth are the best going right now) and they are great. The only 2 minor issues I can throw at them... and it's been picky....

1) the thing turns off after an hour or so.... I could see that be a PITA in a real studio setting (no real issue for me) and

2) They only fire about 3fps... It would be nicer to have them a bit faster - particularly when using them to fire the camera (where holding down the button would also be nice).

I have used PW's quite a bit and just don't like the form factor or the build quality... I think the cyber pluses are better built. The big advantage is they are common and obviously the range but IMO they are too expen$ive from been a monopoly for so long.
