The Frankenmuth Ice Fest is this weekend. Lots of snow and ice sculptures to look at. Since it's Frankenmuth, that means lots of good food and beer. Of course, I wouldn't be interested in that part.

are you going? Is there going to be a "last minute" Michigan GTG? I'm taking my boyfriend to the airport this afternoon so I'll be free all weekend ... might have to take a drive up there ...

Yes, I'm seriously thinking about going. As far as a GTG, I don't know. I just thought I'd put this out there in case anyone is interested. My wife and I went last year and it was pretty cool (no pun intended). Lots of people and lots of snow and ice sculptures. Those artists that do those sculptures are amazing.

There is a park in Anchorage that had people sculpting ice and snow this year - they were supposed to be done right about now and then have the sculptures around the rest of winter for everyone to enjoy. That was before last week when we had a major warm up with temps in the 40's. All the ice and snow sculptures that were being worked on melted. :(
I had planned on taking pics, but those plans have now been canceled. Frankenmuth is a bit far from here so I guess I'll miss that too.
