I hope this is not breaking the rules of the forum. I'm not trying to sell my camera on the forum but am simply curious if you guys think that my price is reasonable...
I'm trying to sell my Canon Rebel XT (~8000 actuations), BG-E3, 2 batteries, Canon 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS, lens hood, and soft pouch on Craigslist for $580. It's in great condition and everything but have not had much response.
What price would you guys sell this for?
Thanks.

Probably asking too much. Folks can get a 40D with the same lens for $650. You might be better off selling the body and grip separate from the lens.

Do you think $520 would be a bit more reasonable? or $480?

i think thats pretty high considering the age and quality of the item.
How much do XTIs go for used? Probs about the same price.
If you get $430 I think you've done well. |

Can't comment on the price because I don't know Canon prices, but my experience with craigslist is that for regular camera gear, if you haven't gotten a call within 48 hours, your price is probably too high.

I think it may be too high, however that IS lens does boost the total value of the deal. I bought my Rebel XT kit about a year ago with the 18-55 kit lens for $327, though that was a steal of a deal. |

You can check what you are selling for current used market value over on Fredmiranda.com hit the buy/sell forum and you can search for Rebel XT and 28-135. Honestly the grip isnt going to be much on the market unless you find someone still using an XT(and there are alot) but most who have the camera and want a grip would already have it. Try to keep the camera and the grip as a unit.

if everything was in excellent condition, i'd say you'd do well to get $450. |

A lot of people who would buy this package aren't necessarily interested in the grip and extra batteries; you might consider taking these out of the picture. I would say $425 or so seems right. |

when i was selling my 400d/xti I had to drop the price twice due to lack of interest. The rebel series are not the most attractive of deals anymore it seems. |

I ended up selling the lens for $220 and camera/grip for $250. Thank you everyone for your help and advice.
