For reasons that probably don't matter here, I need to place 3.5"x5" format images on a 4"x6" print, in the upper left corner like this.
I need to do this hundreds of times. I think that making a PS action and using it in a batch process is the way to go, but am not sure how to go about it.
The files are not all the same pixel dimensions, but they are all in 3.5x5 aspect ratio. The way I made the example was to take the original file (3.5x5) and change the canvas size to 4x6 and anchor the image to the upper left corner.
I would like to save the file with the same name.
Could anyone help me with designing an action and using it in a batch file? I am also open to other suggestions.
Thanks!

Well, check out my tutorial Creating Photoshop Actions, which also shows how to batch them.
